A smart lawyer facing hostile investigations knows that the best way to kill a witch hunt is to act within his rights to refuse to release info to overstepping, hostile bureaucrats. Under the law, a loan is a loan is a loan.
Clamming up within one's rights is like refusing to talk to cops except through a lawyer. Too bad that it makes some people suspicious that you're guilty of wrongdoing; it's still the best thing to do. Get over it.
In other words, Cruz didn't lie to the people of Texas--no matter what the terms of the loan were. A loan is a loan is a loan. Only Trump and his fanatical scandal-mongers push the issue with vicious name-calling--without any support whatsoever.
You're on the side of a really bad guy, IMHO. Trump's reckless, slash-and-burn style of accusation after accusation after accusation has suckered you--and it shows up as a really bad spirit on FR.
(Do you really believe that Cruz was responsible for Obamacare being adjudicated as Constitutional? Trump said that he was. [Where does Trump's over-the-top viciousness, with no real regard for even obvious truth, leave guys like you?])
There is a requirement to disclose the terms of those loans to the FEC which he is still refusing to do. I think Cruz’s issue with campaign loans is nothing like your example of an innocent guy not talking to cops. Cruz has no right to conceal campaign loans from the FEC, which is what he did. The Cruz campaign refuses to deal with FEC auditors and is instead dealing with the FEC enforcement division. Cruz is pursuing this strategy because it delays the release of any potentially embarrassing information until after the election. I think it is pretty clear that Ted Bush is a crook much like his new BFF Neil Bush, get over it.
