This is their second attempt at using alternative energy for this purpose. The first attempt, solar powered lamps did not work out so well.

Hey, for a modest attempt such as this, why not? I'm all for such small investments. Just don't think you can try to scale it up to municipal-size proportions.

Yeah great idea for poor developing countries except for the tiny issue that they cost like 10x’s more than regular lights....
