Spectacular!! WOW! The setting is similar to one in Big D. The area called Highland Park. A beautiful community with a deep gorge, water running thru which ends in a serene pool with paddle boats, possibly fish, picnic tables, and gentle solitude. Not far from Love Field at one time the only large airport in the city (before DFW was built) The name is Bachman Lake. When in high school, we’d put a quilted comforter in the car, and travel out to Bachman, lay on the grass knolls, stare up at the skies above and watch the jets fly onto the runway. A VERY CHEAP high. The jet belly would fly over you (seeming like inches away) The sounds, of course, were deafening. But the sights at night something always remembered.

Checking out your profile page to find you are an avid dog lover. Winchester’s pic is adorable. Our dogs not nearly as high class LOL Mutts! and thru the years we’ve had in the interval at least 7. After the 7th succumbed due to a stroke the decision was agreed upon he would be our last. First, age creeping up on us 2-leggers and IF we were to depart leaving our 4 legged friends where would they be taken in. And SECOND after losing 7 just had no heart strong enough to out last the 8th.

Gene Wilder -The Silver Streak! Funny funny man- always reminded me of my brother in appearance.

Leonard Cohen -excellent album by him and one played often. The tune ‘Suzanne”; the album: Leonard Cohen

A poem for ‘OUR TIME’
THE OAK TREE
A mighty wind blew night and day
It stole the oak tree’s leaves away
Then snapped its boughs and pulled its bark
Until the oak was tired and stark
But still the oak tree held its ground
While other trees fell all around
The weary wind gave up and spoke.
How can you still be standing Oak?
The oak tree said, I know that you
Can break each branch of mine in two
Carry every leaf away
Shake my limbs, and make me sway
But I have roots stretched in the earth
Growing stronger since my birth
You’ll never touch them, for you see
They are the deepest part of me
Until today, I wasn’t sure
Of just how much I could endure
But now I’ve found, with thanks to you
I’m stronger than I ever knew
The Oak Tree by Johnny Ray Ryder Jr

A game to help eliminate our frustration, anger, rage, and general animosity.

Some of these links (poem/game) might have even been posted here prior. Like a tyke walking down a beaten path, when something of interest is found, it is plucked and put in the pocket to add to the ‘treasure chest’ Such is life as we wander thru it. A small smooth stone, an ancient molded glass pop bottle that once held Orange Crush. A piece of history. And history is rich in story and memories.

Enough. Have work to do and dropping in to say thanks ever so much for the post which led me to a new ‘Secret Garden’ :-)) Look forward to visiting and plucking still more treasures from your last post.
