Did you read the article? He did not push the story he only confirmed the investigation by others.
He was fired because he screwed up and put out a story he knew to be false, so that doesn’t exactly make him a credible source. And, people who hope to work in the industry in the future would be motivated to curry favor.
Besides, the whole point of a secret affair is to keep it secret, especially from people who would be the first to notice “funny business”.
Trump wasn’t running for president and risking national security or blackmail either. Get the difference? I doubt it.

So a report, that was found later to be incorrect, was quoted. Gads. They should have boiled him in oil.
You keep posting this and saying how easy to prove it should be. Must be some really stupid people looking into this for the last several months because they haven’t found anything.
I would say the relationship between Trump and the Enquirer is close enough that they would be willing to conduct this sort of smear just on their own initiative, without co-ordination with Trump and also without any evidence or information at all.

I have done multiple searches on this. I cannot find anything other than someone else claiming that Carpenter’s family has confirmed this. What is the source of the actual family member saying it?

This doesn’t even make sense. Donald Trump has a relationship with hundreds of people, including Sessions, Palin, Arpaio, Farwell, and Jimmy Kimmel. Are we to believe that anything they say regarding Cruz is because Trump told them to do so?
