Good morning FRiends! I hope you all had a blessed Easter. In typical Polish fashion, we had our kolbassy, paska, ham, cheese, butter and eggs. This is what it is like in our house on Easter Sunday. The breaking of the fast in celebration of His Resurrection and the promise of New Life in Him! Alleluia!
Good morning n’@!
We had our Easter on Saturday so that our college in OH son could come home. We took him back yesterday. What a whirlwind. I am very tired...it was a beautiful day (for us) both Sat and Sun.
EVERYONE but middle son and his wife were able to attend. A packed house and the granddaughters entertained (well oldest did—we had an Easter egg hunt!). Her baby sis is teething (but liked the FP toy the Bunny left for her here). Great fun.
I was stunned to learn last night that Mother Angelica passed away yesterday. What a final profession of her life time of faith, to go home on the day of the Resurrection.
And...we could be in the path of a polar vortex. It’s spring, but we could still get hard freezes over next two weeks or so. ALL trees have budded and this will drive fruit prices thru the roof!
Sounds like you had a tiring Easter - but in a good way! Same thing here! It was a rush from first thing in the morning until we got home last night. We reserved the family room at the nursing home for our Easter dinner yesterday. MIL is now eating solids! We’re hoping she is able to go home soon.
I just looked up the announcement about Mother A’s passing. How fitting that God chose to take her on Easter Sunday! What a strong and feisty woman! A truly faithful soldier for Christ!
I remember how a late freeze took out the peach blossoms several years ago. I can peaches and peach jam every August. The peach crop was really poor that year.
Good morning!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
Sneakers is there any news on Bernice?
We had a very nice Easter here. Not as much food as usual and no kids or grandkids. Mrs p6 and I stayed home, sat on the balcony to enjoy the warmth. Very little “traditional” food except for what mrs p6 brought home from her office party.
All we did was a ham, candied sweet potatoes and broccoli. No breads or candy or pastries except for a few cookies. After all the decades of doing things up we wanted a nice, quiet time, and that’s what we had.
Finally I can get warroom live feed on mrs p6’s laptop.
Sounds like you and Mrs p6 had a wonderfully restful day! We were exhausted after we got home. DIL’s mom and her friend, Tony, drove up from Uniontown to see the grandkids. We kind of stayed away to allow her time with the grandkids all to herself. Really nice lady. Since the kids live with us, we get to see them all the time. We wanted her to have her own quality time with them. They left not long after we got home.
Bernice is doing well! She is on solid food now. She is still weak, but getting stronger. the therapist had her walking the length of the hallway yesterday. She wants to go home so badly. She will definitely require assistance when she goes home. Her hubby is in his 80’s as well, and he is finding it harder to climb stairs. They and their kids have some important decisions ahead of them.
Sounds like you had a busy day like we did!
Everybody seems to be having sleep studies done! My co-worker and her husband both just went through that. His oxygen levels were way worse than hers. They are both on cpap now. I toss and turn too much for that. At some point, I’ll have to visit a doctor. At 61, I’m probably testing fate by not getting checkups!
It’s wonderful news about Bernice! Thank You Lord!
>They and their kids have some important decisions ahead of them.
Prayers continue for healing and guidance.
Yes we did have a restful day...well mrs p6 cooked and cleaned a bit, LOL!
Great to hear she is doing better...God is in charge...well till my bleeding ulcers I never went for a check up...or had a doctor... Take care.
Sounds like a nice time..
Did not get to try the copter outside as they had a Easter Egg hunt after we ate at mom’s too tired after that..too windy today!!
Over loading on candy!!
Hey Sneakers. 80 degrees here. For Lunch I am having, a Taco Salad my Easter was really good. I went to the early Sunrise, service. Followed by service at my Church, there was over 1,200 in attendance, the music by the Worship Team. Was beautiful, especially when they did the song Forever by kari Jobe the message. Was extremely powerful, by the senior Pastor I literally felt the Holy spirit, come upon me at very end, after Church I went over to my dad’s for a nice Dinner. I hope your Easter was happy wonderful and blessed.
Happy Easter StoneWall!
Had leftover paska and kolbassy for lunch. 48 degrees here with a wind chill of 38. Needless to say, I’m jealous of your 80 degree weather!
Sounds like your service was absolutely beautiful and moving! We reserved a room at the nursing home my MIL is staying at and had a wonderful family day!
Hi StoneWall Brigade please send 80 degrees our way as it is 40 degrees here in Indiana County!!
