If this is what you re referring to, they did not do what you say:

The National Enquirer’s parent company, AMI, also released a statement.

“No one influences the reporting that the National Enquirer does other than our own reporters and editors,” according to the statement. “We stand by the integrity of our coverage and remain committed to our aggressive reporting on such an important topic. The National Enquirer, more than any other publication, has been unflinching in its reporting on the 2016 presidential candidates.” http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/donald-trump-i-had-absolutely-878382

but enough people believed the lie and Clinton was elected.

Fiction. The reality is that Clinton got more votes (from the living and the dead) than either Perot or Bush. Perot siphoned many disillusion conservatives fro Bush. Recall Bush had two phrases stuck to him - "Read my lips, no new taxes" and the "New World Order." Bush was his own worst enemy.

Amanda Carpenter has now DELETED ALL of her tweets prior to March 1 of this year.

A couple days ago, she had tweets on her Twitter page going back to at least 2014, and I personally saw the tattoo tweets on April 1, 2014.

A large group of liberal politicians claim global warming is real; so, does that make it legit?

If this is what you re referring to, they did not do what you say:

How does the meat and potatoes statement not refute cruz's statments that it isn't correct:
“We stand by the integrity of our coverage and remain committed to our aggressive reporting on such an important topic."

They say they stand by the integrity of the coverage/reporting. If not coming out and saying ,"we got the dirt", they intimated that they are comfortable that they have something which will make them suit-proof.

You are correct that Ross Perot was the one who siphoned the votes and that was the main game changer in the elections of 1992 & 1996. Clinton was the only President to not one, but two elections without ever getting a majority of votes (not even close to 50%).

But I can say that the charge of the Bush affair from the Clinton camp helped to mitigate the moral charges against Clinton in the mind of many left leaning voters. It had a much smaller, but real impact on the election.

pardon my gaff. Should read: “Clinton was the only President to win, not one, but two elections without ever getting a majority of votes (not even close to 50%).”
