As everything unfolds before us, in which direction only God knows. We must remember who the True enemies are -- Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
This NE story, where ever it leads, is straight from the evil one's plan to ruin many souls whether you are a Cruz or a Trump supporter. Let's not give Satan what he wants.
I especially want to pray for Ted Cruz and his family -- one can only imagine the anguish and heartache they are going through know -- whether the story is true or not.
I say this as a solid Trump supporter.
As a Catholic I offer this prayer:
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle,
be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him we humbly pray;

All we know for sure at this point is that a scandal rag has printed a rumor, and we know for sure two of the women accused in the rumor have strongly condemned the article claiming it is untrue- and we know for a fact Ted has strongly denied the allegations as well- Whether they are telling the truth or not remains to be seen- That is all we know for sure at this point- Anyone claiming something else at this point runs a very serious risk of bearing false witness-
Being passionate about one’s chosen candidate is one thing, but bearing false witness in hopes of destroying people’s lives using what very well could be lies- is quite another- and is something we should not be a party to- until we know for sure- until the facts are known- we should refrain from accusing him of anything because God takes these things very seriously- It’s not a game- People’s reputations are at stake here- and to be frank Lent- Not to excuse what Ted said- but Donald earned that moniker which was given to him by his competition in business if I’m not mistaken- that’s what the quote was referring to- Ted didn’t just make it up- it refers to donald figuratively ‘sleepign with rats (ie democrats) to get what he wants-

My mistake is almost always my forgetting that, for each and everyone of us, Satan knows what we think we need to be happy, then he plays us by keeping "it" just out of our reach.
The more emotion, the more invested you are in this belief that this is the key to your happiness, the tighter the grip he has on you.
Boy howdy, the things we can do and justify to get what we think we need to be happy, especially in the heat of the moment! Yikes...

As to who wins this primary and the POTUS? We'll just have to wait and see.

Ted Cruz boffing women in DC does not inflict harm on me. There is nothing for me to forgive Ted for. That’s between him and Heidi and God. I would however feel sorry for Heidi as she would definitely be harmed.
Newt’s enjoyed something of a revival and rehabilitation on FR of late, but he’s the ultimate conniving political insider, for better or worse. I don’t think Cruz could pull it off even if he tried, again for better or worse. He doesn’t connect with what motivates people, or what puts them off. Not a recipe for successful manipulation.

I at that time was struggling to make sense of the story and basically was stating that there is/was no need for anyone in the Trump camp to add to the story. Ted has enough problems as it is. Hence, "the sweat it out." quote.

Since that, post I have done a lot of reflecting on the situation as more news came about. It became clearer and clearer to me with all the nasty comments (myself included) that we as members of FR need turn to prayer and direct our prayers to casting out the true enemies -- Satan and all the evil spirits who seek the ruins of souls.
