You know, I saw this article and the humour in it made me want to share this with everyone here. Things were going fine until a complete ignoramus posted #9. Could you please enlighten me (and the rest of us) what compelled you to make such an asinine statement?
Garth Brooks had a decent start. His first three albums were stellar. But he went bad in a big way with his fourth album (”The Chase”) and that “We Shall Be Free” song. All downhill from there. The Barry Manilow of country music thereafter.

Don't know where you stand on this, but "New Country" is anything but country. Bunch of soft rock and pop singers wearing cowboy hats. Just my 2 cents.
I prefer the country of Johnny Cash, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, etc.
