Funny how all the conspiracy theories tend to focus on the NBA when it is the NFL where the commissioner manipulates behind the scenes. There was another component I heard on the radio. Goodell told all the other teams to lay off a player the Rams wanted to draft so he could sign with the Rams as an undrafted free agent.

Stan Kroenke did his homework. His planning was meticulous and he blew everyone away with his L.A. area megaplex with over 2 billion of his own money, while the others needed help and handouts. The other owners get a nice payoff as well. IT is a racket, but Kroenke made it go smoothly threw money, planning and will.

When you are a mediocre team with a lot of young players, any distraction at this level can be a punishment.

So the deal was either draft Sam or else we’ll put you on the TV show sooner? Is being on cable something to be feared?

When you are a mediocre team with a lot of young players, any distraction at this level can be a punishment. So what did the Cowboys, Dolphins, Bengals, Jets, and Falcons do to deserve their punishment?

They were mediocre enough, and didn't volunteer to draft a faggot. I suspect that being sent to England for the "home" team is punishment for not filling your stadium well enough. The Rams have been on the receiving end of that as well.

And ESPN pitched in with their none-dare-dissent hagiography on how Sam’s Mizzou teammates thought he hung the moon.

Ummm, the Kansas City Chiefs don’t have any problem filling Arrowhead and they went to England as the home team last year. I believe that started them on their unprecedented win streak.

My Guess for the Chiefs starting their winning streak in London is because they knew the Royals were on the verge of Winning the World Series later that day and figured if they didn’t get their Sh!t together than no one would give two Effs about then for a long time afterward since the Royals were going to be World Champions, so they had to do something and step up their literal game.

Sam eventually was cut and found himself in the Canadian Football League in 2015.For 1 game after which he quit for mental health reasons. He has since said he wants to return to the NFL in 2016.

The Chiefs had that last year, even though Arrowhead usualy has a good crowd. We beat the Lions and really took off on our 10 game winning streak.
As for Sam, had there been any pressure involved then I'm sure the Rams would have had to take him higher in the draft and keep him longer. As it was the Rams took him because they had a second seventh round pick and it was worth the risk since he was an MU product. They kept him long enough to determine he wasn't NFL quality.
To: C19fan
They should have forbade the Rams from cutting him.
And every NFL team should be forced to draft at least two homosexuals. And a woman. And a disabled person. And three Muslims. And an Eskimo.

I gotta disagree about Sam. I think that they went to the Rams, who had the last pick and said “If he’s not drafted, take him, and we won’t do anything to hold up a move to LA.”
His combine performance was so terrible that I’m pretty sure that was the reason he made such a big deal about being gay. NFL didn’t want the hassle of LGBTQ whatevers picketing them and denouncing them all over television.

That kind of stinks, if true....marginal NFLroster level talent...seemed plausible for him to get drafted late somewhere.....

Michael Sam is going to the LA Rams? Is this a jail joke?
I had a feeling the last Super Bowl was going to be our last.

Well nothing is going to end all the conspiracy theories about Sam, which is an awful lot of effort to explain how the 249th player in the draft got taken.
