No, he hasn't. He changed his party registration SIX times, he's given lots of money to liberal Democrats, he said a few years ago that he identified more as a Democrat, that the Republicans are just too extreme (and dumb, BTW -- that he could fool them), that he supported the stimulus. He praised 0bama, Hillary, DeBlasio, and others. He has endorsed the individual mandate and touchback amnesty.
Conservative? It doesn't look that way to me.
I don’t know why you would believe Trump. Certainly not if you investigate his record.
EXACTLY! You are 100 percent correct.
Why has Chris Christie come out in support of Trump? We can play that game all night.
Which ones?
Trump is a progressive.
Don’t give up on FReeRepublic. Election season silliness will end.
By this time next year, Trump supporters will either: reconcile themselves to the Cruz Presidency or to the fact that they’ve been duped by a snake oil con job and the Clinton White House it helped create.
Even if Trump were to win, posters here will have to reconcile that President Trump is someone far less ideologically constrained than they believed or hoped.
Any which way, sanity will return here.
Doesn’t matter, Cruz and Kasich are both Stealth Bushes who has done great harm to the country with open-borders and endless wars.
Gotta put on your orange-colored Trump glasses. Then you’ll see the conservatism. :-)
Trump donated to both parties, more to so-called Republicans, incl Cruz. WHY, he never seems to say this, I cannot say. In business, it is basically a part of networking. I dare say all big businesses do this. Is this good enough “logic” for you? But, hey, way to win over Trump supporters with your Mittens/Cruz elitist comments.
“As they saying goes; you can’t reason someone out of a position that they did not arrive at with reason in the first place.”
Just thought that need repeating.
Trump making deals with the democrats advancing the democrat agenda, the very same agenda that created the problems in the first place, is somehow supposed to solve the problem.
Don’t ask me I have no explanation for it.
Thank you for putting into words what I have struggled to define. I also suspected that Cruz had Aspergers. There is something about him that, as you say, does not connect. I’m still trying to finish his book, but I have to admit that it has not been a pleasant read. I see things in his writing that reveal some psychological blips. Which to be fair, may come from abandonment issues with his father leaving him at such a young age. Most of the book (so far) is a compilation of “name-dropping”. He has connected himself to all the elite persons he can recall ever meeting. He solved some problem or other for every one of them. I’m about ready to send him a Superman costume.
“Why has Chris Christie come out in support of Trump? We can play that game all night”
He could be the Attorney General which would not be a bad choice. So would Ted choose Lindsy Graham for Attorney General? What role is Jeb Bush going to play? Vice President? What has he promised Mitt Romney? What has he promised “The Club for Growth”.
Bottom line Ted has sold out to the GOPe. Even a blind man can see that. Is the GOPe going to say who he can appoint to the Supreme Court?
“So this shows the idiocy of Rush’s tactics. He’s prolonging the attacks on Trump as long as possible and will cause damage to the party.”
Pretty much sums it up. Seems like he is pursuing his part of the Sea Island strategy.
The caller brought up a good point. I went to a political donation tracking site (shared by a DT supporter) and I actually searched for every donation DT ever made. He gave many only 1 grand a piece.
I was wondering how he “bought” a politician for only $1k? Then I wondered, what about perks? Stay here for nothing, play golf there for nothing, gamble, and whatever else they do in his venues. Just saying.
Now, DT’s testimony against the Reagan economic plan included verbage that “credit limits” were hurting the real estate business and if it was lifted it would be great, really great for the economy. He did give $1k to Chris Dodd, but did he make any money in the real estate bubble?

Trump praised Hillary as doing a great job as SoS.
Since Hillary started ISIS I guess Trump’s praise of Hillary doing a great job includes her great job in starting ISIS.
If you want to write his praise of Hillary off to his lack of knowledge as to what was going on what could possibly lead you to believe he has the knowledge of what is going on now that he could keep us safe?
It’s interesting how you follow all the misdirections that Trump displays, but avoid all the real issues. That is Trump’s whole campaign avoiding the issues because of his inconsistent record and lack of substance.
“Unlike Cruz, I DO NOT support a brokered convention”
No Bob, you’re they guy that wants to make Trump Emperor.
If you noticed there are the same Freepers posting to the election threads most of which I skip because nothing new is ever said.
I try to post other topic threads (I did post the one about Kasich being open to having a dem vp!) but we really need to know what else is going on around the country.
Imagine what we are NOT learning because of how the current administration takes advantage of doing things while we are distracted, and the media, of course.
You are chasing conspiracy theories with Cruz. Look at his record as Solicitor General of Texas, his work removing barriers at the FTC, and his time in the Senate. Cruz has done just what we Texans sent him to do and that is to defend the Constitution and shake things up. Don’t fall for the misdirection.
