Ted Cruz has won Utah's Republican presidential caucus to score a key victory in his bid to close the gap on front runner Donald Trump.
Cruz is on pace to take all of the state's delegates by finishing with more than 50 percent of the vote.

Exactly, So Ted’s Only realistic viable option is to go along with Romney and Ryan, and create a contested convention. Does Ted not see the strings attached to his hands and feet?
“...love him long time”
LOL! I see what you did there.
Too true and a nice chuckle early in the am : )
Well except for the pesky fact that the Gap got bigger.
The report about ballet stuffing came in while the caucus was still in progress. So nice try but no cigar.
It’s the cognitive dissonance of expecting a religious leader to act morally operating here.
Trump always gets surprised and disgusted and has the temerity to speak out...bad..bad..bad../sarc/
Bull. Is Romney a conservative - because Utah voted in droves for him too in 2012.
Cruz got the Romney Beck white ultra conservative Mormon vote that’s all. They do what Bishop Funnydrawers Romney tells them too.
Notice that Cruz can’t win in states with diverse races, demographics - you now a real sampling of America? He gets his clock cleaned. Even Texas he won by historically low margins for a sitting senator.
Cruz is a fringe candidate who has zero chance of winning - he threw in with the GOPe to pluck delegates in hopes of a contested convention.
Mocking the press in general? With the exact body positions of the reporter? Are you prepared to spend at least 4 years of going through with daily spinning and rewording and “what he really meant was....” whatever excuses you can come up with? If so it’s going to be a long 4 years for you.
Utah delegates should not be seated at the convention.
This isn’t fair. You are using real math instead of Cruz/Core math.
I’m confused as to how this closed the gap. If Ted won 40 for the day and Trump won 58 for the day...didn’t Trump’s lead increase by 18?
Also, If Ted needed to win ~85% of remaining delegates, and every time he doesn’t get 85%, doesn’t the percent go up for the next primary? For instance, from here on out, would he not have to win 86%...and so forth. Is this logic wrong?
The fasting and stabbing will continue until Cruz wins!
The only gap closed is the 8-state Rule 40. Utah counts for Cruz, and I don’t think he has the eight needed yet to even be on the first ballot. This is more a desperate hanging on rather than closing the gap.
Ain’t that the truth. I remember a time when number where a fact...now, I guess the numbers can be whatever you want them to be. i.e(he lost by 100, but really he won because I said so:)
Don’t hire any of these math flunkers if the job requires real math.
There are now 14 states left.
7 are northeastern blue states.
3 are pacific coast blue states.
In addition there is West Virginia which is solidly Trump.
Wisconsin and Indiana both were polling recently for Trump.
South Dakota, New Mexico, Montana, and Nebraska are possible pick ups for Cruz, but I think New Mexico has been a blue state in the recent past. I just don’t see California, Washington, or Oregon going for Cruz.
The caucuses are all over, so there can be no weird caucus results. Everything remaining is a primary.
Cruz cannot go over the top, so he cannot win on the first ballot.
If this goes to a second ballot at the convention, the establishment doesn’t really want Cruz, so they’ll come up with a ‘compromise ticket’ of Darryl and Darryl.
Right now, Cruz is being used by the establishment as a spoiler. For anybody who can do math, they need to know this is true.
Ridiculous. He cannot win. It’s just no more possible that he wins than that the 1965 Dallas Cowboys win the 2017 Super Bowl.
Trade the democrats the Mormon vote for the Blue collar vote, they get Utah, and we get Michigan, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio and the south
Think about it
It is about time we dump the circus freaks of Utah and appeal to the blue collar worker
Yeah cause the polls had trump in 3rd.
The Book of Mormon impresses Utah voters.
Nope because they are run by firms that you pay to get the result you want. I went to their website, through the portal for potential clients and checked it out myself.
