Read the book “Wheat Belly” hybridization isn’t good for humans either. The hybridization of wheat is contributing to obesity and chronic disease.

Tomatoes are a nightshade family plant. They have an alkaloid in the layer just beneath the skin. Normally it is so low in concentration that it is harmless, but generically modify it to increase the alkaloid levels and it will kill white fly larva and other insect pests; it will also make me vomit a half hour or so after eating, so I have to be careful and only buy non-GMO.
