Change will not be in a good direction and may make it impossible to ever have a manned deep space program in the US again for several lifetimes.

Also I wouldn’t be so sure the tech will come from the US as the tech lead we made over the rest of the world came from the Apollo program. Other countries, like China will re-create the Apollo program and face new hurdles which they will have to overcome with new tech - meanwhile, nothing happens in the US while China/Russia maybe India and Japan militarize the moon and Lagrange points. Leaving the US with nothing but empty dreams - such are the wages of radical socialism now sweeping the country.

Actually up until about 1970, we lived in a world where it was thought we had unlimited natural resources. The last 50 years since that time have been anomalous in terms of American history.

You could easily replace the word renewable with unlimited and the meaning in terms energy would be about the same.

Right now renewable also means higher cost energy. In the future however renewable will also mean lower cost energy. That’s when the real revolution begins.
