As minimum wages across the country rise and restaurants face increased labor costs, one fast food CEO is thinking about replacing human workers with robots. Carl's Jr. head honcho Andy Puzder wants to open a new restaurant concept that's "employee-free," reports Business Insider.
Puzder was inspired by a visit to Eatsa, the futuristic San Francisco-born restaurant where patrons order via tablet and retrieve their food from automated cubbies. He believes the idea of a restaurant free of social interaction could be especially appealing to millennials, noting that young people seem particularly fond of ordering from kiosks over humans.

They will form Occupy Carl Jr’s.
There will be a maintenance worker who will reset and load the machines. They will also maintain the appearance of the store. There will probably be a shift manager and one other person to help customers with orders. Kind of like the person at self checkout.
Robotics > Ebonics
Is that Lee Harvey Oswald in the white shirt seated at the first table?
Carl's Jr. CEO Wants to Open a Robot Restaurant Free of Human WorkersWho's stopping him?
Chipotle wishes they had thought of this a year ago. Keeping people in the process has cost them their good name and billions of dollars.
I was an electronic technician, self taught, at a logistics branch of a major retailer. Everything is being automated and there is a shortage of people who maintain and program these machines.
:-))
Is he going to teach the robots to buy his product?
I would not go. People are who buy your shit. If you don’t want workers, why should we frequent your business.
Horses never did.
I know IN N Out is an institution out that way, but honestly I was left underwhelmed by it...
Kind of like Primanti’s Sandwich’s here in Pttsburgh... locals think they are great, but I think they are crap.
Tell him to get a job in fixing the stuff the engineers build.... They can’t offshore jobs that require physical contact.
I’m honestly surprised that this type of Cafeteria hasn’t returned, particularly with the advent of smart phone payment... no need for cash or coins... just tap, open the door and go.
Seen some small vending machines setups like this, but nothing like they used to have with the vendomatic cafeterias.

It’s not my favorite either. The original Carl’s Jr was a much better hamburger IMO.
It is. Umbrella Man is sitting across from him.
I went to a hamburger drive-in Monday.
It is a local joint that looks run down and has been here @ 60 years. My chocolate malt WAS ACTUALLY A REAL MALT.
Here in California we have In-n-Out burgers. When you go inside, you’ll see a blizzard of employees; all smiling, talking and working at a rapid pace in their clean white uniforms. It’s really a different experience when compared to the average fast food joint, which is staffed by maybe 4-6 employees.
That’s the sort of gem that you love to find. You pretty much have to find a little mom and pop outfit to get great fast food. In Orange County the Greek owned places are usually very good.
So do it and see how it works.
