Best live album ever?
For me and in this order;
The Kinks "One for the road"
Deep Purple "Made in Japan"
I'm looking for more.
I’m a huge Doors fan, but ABBA is gay.
just saying
I actually went out and bought another UFO live album ‘On With the Action’—live at the roundhouse 1976, wasn’t as good as Strangers. ‘Lou Reed Live’ was actually recorded during the same shows as Rock N Roll Animal, so same band, which was basically what went on to become the Alice Cooper band. I don’t care for Lou Reed with the Velvets or Solo, but put that band behind him and anything would sound awesome.
Another one, Scorpions, Tokyo Tapes is pretty great. Hendrix Live at Winterland is awesome, especially the new expanded version they put out recently with alternates and new stuff.

That’s the album we would party to in college.
34 years later I still know most of the words to “God’s own Drunk.”
As for another band posted up thread, Buffett’s albums would put me to sleep - but not this live one!
Iron Maiden
Heck yea, arguably not one but two of the greatest guitar players of all time..... And in the same band!
Danny Kaye, “Live at Tivoli Gardens”.
What? You mean 60/70’s live rock albums?
Woodstock. Period. Full stop.
I distinctly remember the first time I heard it... flabbergasting
Big Kinks guy here and tend to know those folks that know them etc. +1 for your choice.
Otis Redding/Jimi Hendrix at Monterey. The Otis Redding side will make your turntable sweat.
Frampton Comes Alive is a first rate live album but I gotta go with Lynyrd Skynyrd’s One More From The Road. Free Bird!!!!
Wheels of Fire is my fave.
Stones Get Your YaYas Out number 2
I just listened to ‘Headless in Boston’ from Zevon, great stuff.

The Cure - Entreat ( 1989 )
Entreat is a live album by The Cure, recorded at London’s Wembley Arena in July 1989. It consists entirely of songs performed from the band’s 1989 record Disintegration; while they were on their international Prayer Tour. Entreat was distributed exclusively in France as a promotional tool. When bootlegs began to surface, however, the album was given a limited European release.
Peter Green/ Fleetwood Mac... Live at the Boston Tea Party
Ellington at Newport, 1956.
Honorable mention: Procol Harum live in Edmonton
2nded
Alternate: Rush Exit Stage Left
I saw the Allman Brothers for free in a concert at the University of Florida Bandshell around 1982. It was recorded for MTV when the thought was that they would be a concert video station. Really Great concert!
My favorite song on the Yes Yessongs album is Starship Troopers.
