Am I losing my mind?

Posted on 03/15/2016 10:01:50 AM PDT by uscga77

Am I losing my mind? Donald Trump gives me the creeps at times. He offends my Christianity. His persona turns me off. He can be all other the map in terms of consistent principles. But there is something inside of me that wants him to kick the stuffing out of the powers that be. Even though I am a Cruz man I could see myself voting for the guy. Am I losing my mind?

American voters coalesce around politicians who mean what they say and do what they say. Republicans had four tries at it and never meant what they said or did anything about it.

Well, now it's our turn to let them know we were listening and watching.

Yes. You are losing your mind.

I know how you feel. I don’t dislike Trump, I just prefer Cruz more.

I have been puzzled these last weeks though by the coordinated effort by all groups - the GOPe, the thug Left and Moveon.org crowd and particularly the MSM - to take Trump down.

I watched NBC news on Friday and I wanted to throw my TV through the window, the way they blamed Trump for the Leftist thug invasion of his rallies.

It makes me want to support Trump.

Much of what you said about Trump was also said about Patton. But it was also said about Vince the Sham-wow Guy. My take:

80% chance that Trump is a political Patton.
20% chance that Trump is a political Vince the Sham-wow Guy.

Place your bets, then wait until January of 2017.

I will not be voting for her either thank you. If she becomes president then it will be the people who cast their votes for her that elect her not me. I will sleep well knowing I voted my principles.

Me too, but I made up my mind on my way into the polls. I voted Trump because he’s the strongest candidate. Bottom line. I want to see him face to face with Hillary.

I feel the same way. I really don’t trust or like Trump, but I laughed when he gave out Lindsey Graham’s cell phone number, appreciate his destruction of the candidacies of RINOs like Jeb, Kasich and Christie and am glad he brought illegal immigration to the forefront of discussion and stomps on political correctness without apologizing for it.

Add to that the fact that all of the people I detest (liberals, RINOs like Paul Ryan and those vile, fascist protestors in Chicago) hate him and I feel I must support him.

A very weird place to be, isn’t it!

It is just his personality you don’t cotton to. You probably see his sacrifice and patriotism. You realize you too might have lived wildly with women if you had been a young good looking billionnaire man. You realize he is old and done with all that now. You realize he didn’t have to do any of this life threatening campaigning, but he needed someone to, and no other independent person rich enough stepped up. Every other candidate is bought and paid for.

That’s why you’re going to maybe vote for a man you don’t want to have dinner with. He might stop this cabal who has taken us away from our constitution. We have become USAINOs. You want a bloodless return to our republic. This might help. No other choice before us will.

No, I’m a staunch Cruz supporter, but I smile when Trump rips into the media or riffs off on a non-politically correct topic. Doesn’t mean I voted for him today, but I will have no problem voting for him in the general election.

Reagan quoted the old maxim “half a loaf is better than no loaf”, and that’s what I believe. I voted for the biggest portion of the loaf I could find in the primaries (Cruz is about 90% of what I want), but Trump is a half a loaf that might turn out to be better than I expected.

Regardless of the vile and venomous rhetoric on this website these last several months, it is actually possible to be okay with several different candidates winning the nomination. It doesn’t mean you are disloyal to the one you like best.

I've been thinking the same way. Just voted for Cruz here in FL. But if Trump wins it fair and square then so be it. Needless to say, either one will be a YUGE improvement over Her Thighness or the Sanderista.

Anger is the reason people like Trump in the first place, not sense. He is an adulterer who has gotten rich off of people’s addictions to gambling and easy money and he thinks Planned Parenthood is wonderful.

So simple but you nailed it. We take a risk with Trump but a) we don’t have much to lose any more and b) 80/20 is a good bet.

Even though I’m too “low information” to understand, this is a rebellion against the establishment. There’s only one “outsider”. Everyone else claims that title but they do represent more of the same.

Some people like the way things are. Others see the Country being run (by a ruling class) into the ground.

It’s your choice.

Yes, you are. Trump is the destroyer. He has already destroyed the GOP. He has ensured Hilary’s victory.

Think of Trump as the political equivalent of hydrogen bomb. It ain’t necessarily pretty but it is pretty damned effective.

I was where you are now about a month or two ago.

But I am now firming in the Trump camp.

Cruz blaming the riots in Chicago on Trump was the last straw for me.

He’s the only candidate standing up for the sovereignty of our nation and for protecting its borders from invasion.

Reason enough to support him. The alternative is unthinkable.
