Am I losing my mind?

Posted on 03/15/2016 10:01:50 AM PDT by uscga77

Am I losing my mind? Donald Trump gives me the creeps at times. He offends my Christianity. His persona turns me off. He can be all other the map in terms of consistent principles. But there is something inside of me that wants him to kick the stuffing out of the powers that be. Even though I am a Cruz man I could see myself voting for the guy. Am I losing my mind?

You are waking up. Same thing happened to me through the 80s. I never voted for Reagan and made fun of him along with my friends. Yet every speech I watched moved me considerably. Glad I woke up (Christ woke me up!)

Me too. He really reminded me of Nixon Friday night. And the taunts at Trump and his supporters reminded me of what the pseudo-intellectuals tried to do to Ronald Reagan.

Trump is dog excrement and so are many of his followers, but Hillary is even worse, so Trump will get my vote in November. I still think people are going to find out that voting with their middle fingers in the primary was a foolish thing to do when Hillary wins the Presidency.

As far as I see it, for me, there are things Trump does that bother me but right now I understand that it’s part gamesmanship and I hope that he will ease up on the act. Though I am not committed to a candidate right now(because I can wait) I would not hesitate to vote for him if he is the nominee.

"the real fault line for Republicans in 2016. The fight on the right isn’t between outsiders and the establishment — the presence of Trump and Sanders prove the absence of an establishment, or at least expose its weakness. Instead, the divide is between two factions of conservatives that emerged in the government shutdown fight over Obamacare in 2013: an American Revolutionary wing of the Tea Party and a French Revolutionary wing of the Tea Party.

The Americans favor persuasion, incrementalism and principled compromise. The French favor purges, instant gratification and purity. The Americans believe the proper responses to anger are empathy, policy solutions and servant leadership willing to sacrifice itself in pursuit of the most conservative compromise possible. The French believe anger should be amplified, fomented and used to annihilate impure opponents so that only the righteous will remain."

From opportunitylives.com, found the link on FB. Very interesting perspective.

Trump appeals to the demons in people. He sells very similar positions to Cruz’s, but instead of appealing to patriotism and tradition, he appeals to anger and frustration.

As I said earlier, Trump is an Ass. But he’s OUR ass vs a smooth talker who is selling all of us out.

Take a lot at the array of folks against him, and why, and what their attacks are.

NOBODY argues on substance.

Either he’s a Racist, or their’s no way to control the border or build the fence (defeatism).
Or he’s a Con man (can be believe a politician calling a businessman a con man?).

Yes, he’s full of himself — but let me ask — would ANYBODY put up with the garbage to run for president that otherwise? You have to think a lot of yourself. It comes with the territory.

Truth is, even our “great” presidents had feet of clay. If you are a historian, you know this.

Perhaps this will help you. Think of Trump this way:

Trump is as a warrior, a general who joyfully leaps to the front of the battle. He is blunt, rough, crude, crass, tough, certainly not a holy man; most certainly not a diplomat. He is a leader for war, a soldier and a patriot who has the will and the courage to do battle, one who recognizes his enemies and how to defeat them, and blessed with an indomitable will to win against the forces of evil, such as the baby killers, such as those who would place perverted men into the school locker rooms of young girls, such as those who allow Islamic terrorism to continue within our borders, such as those who sell our factories and send our wealth to totalitarian third world countries impoverishing our own people, and assuring the continued enslavement of those the thumb of communist dictators, such as those who would destroy our educational system with common core, such as those who would squelch free speech and free thinking with political correctness, and all of the rest of those traitors who are destroying this country.

Who is it who has given Donald Trump this will to win? Who is it that gives him this voice that is louder than any other voice? Who is it who has has given him the the ability to rip the masks from America’s enemies within and show them for who they are? Who is it that has kept him strong when all malignant forces of the world and of Hell are arrayed against him?

Never Trump. I am curious if Trump gets the nomination, who will you vote for?

Hillary/Bernie, or Trump?

or will you stay home (in itself a vote for status quo).

See you are realizing it’s about more than just you this election! I’m a Trump man but as God is my witness if it’s Cruz I’ll be at my polling station at 6:30am to vote for him just like I did for Trump this morning, so feel better!

Thanks for the post, but I am not looking for help. I do not believe him to be the hero you say he is. Throughout history there have been many leaders who are diplomats and holy men. Being rough, rude and crass does not make him a good leader, it just makes him rough rude and crass.

I simply believe him to be a liar. A man of opportunity who will say whatever he needs to to get elected, so he can win the biggest prize in the land. I don’t believe he will ever build a wall, and I don’t believe he is going to keep out Muslim terrorists. As for defeating the forces of evil? He thinks Planned Parenthood is wonderful. He will not have my vote.

“We already have a strong man president with a cult like following. We don’t need another.”

The last time some junior Senator who was a Harvard lawyer with a questionable citizenship talked like that we got Obama. Cruz: Different party, same attitude.

No you are not. My primary reason for voting Trump is that all hope of restoring our constitution and republic is moot if we don’t destroy the political status quo, political correctness, the msm, and the political power class. Trump does that. He is not the most conservative but he’s conservative on the most important things. He will complete the wall started under GW Bush and he will not tolerate the EPA or other nonsense stopping it. He will drive deportations to all time highs and his mere election will cause many to self deport. Once the demographic problems begin to get corrected and a new paradigm where candidates are not as worried about being smothered by political correctness we will see a new generation of bold non career politician candidates. This is what will lay the foundation for the ultimate restoring of the constitution and making america great again.

Cruz would be a good President but he’s shown that he is unwilling to totally disrupt the current paradigm of leftist political correctness in the way Trump does. Trump charges into the fire repeatedly and fails to be burned and more often than not the opponents who attack him are bloodied or destroyed. That is what we need. It may not be pretty but the last thing we need is another conservative who wins technical arguments but loses the damn war.

Even if sticking it to everyone else, means the country ends up worse in the end?

Nope. You just are seeing reality. Democrats and Republicans are unified in their opposition to Trump. They have the exact same talking points and they are following the exact same script...Cruz included. This should show that he is a threat to their way of life. This should show that there is but one party and one agenda and God forbid if you should ever go against it.
