There are more than a few of us Baltimorons who believe the legal issues provided a convenient cover for releasing a guy whose production was on the down side of the career curve.

"Hell be wise to grow up right quick." Instead of being contrite, realizing how much he tossed away by HIS own behavior, he's out partying.
Any team would have to have brain damage to hire Manziel.
He's just bad news all around.
In before someone brings up Joe Namath's "boozing and broads".
At least Namath showed up to work, and got his day job done.
Does anyone think for a second that Manziel has 1% of Namath's work ethic?

Trashy guy spoiled by rich family who did not do near enough to raise him to maturity.
In some respect, he is good as it demonstrates, as Tiger Woods did also, pretty clearly that athletic prowess alone does not a man make.

Yep, I used to defend Manziel, but at some point, you’d better produce on the field if you’re going to get away with all that partying.

Exactly.
Another example would be Mickey Mantle.
He'd be hungover, or even drunk when he played, but he'd go out and sock three homers.
NOBODY really cared what he did off the field.

Imagine what Babe Ruth could have done if only he’d cut down on the smoking, the drinking and the sex....especially between the innings.

NOBODY really cared what he did off the fieldI agree, until that partying starts impacting performance If Manziel had thrown for 6000 yards of passing, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
Namath, Merideth, Stabler, etc. were probably just as bad, but they delivered.

Johnny Has-been.Never dislike A & M or Manziel, but using Football as your nickname is just asking for it.
