Your article made the comment that they range in size, leading me to think there are many different kinds.

They use them to hunt boar!

Podencos are all over the place, in size.

There are Podenco Pequenos [small] Podenco Medios [medium] and Podenco Grandes, [large]

They all share a common ancestry and have been bred for specific hunting niches.

They are closely related to Ibizan Hounds, which I have rescued since 1990 and I have one Portuguese Podengo Medio, Gypsy.

Execellent rabbit dogs!

When I had a pack of 7 Ibizans, people used to snicker at my "skinny little dogs". :D
