Playing into Obama's hands

As this election cycle continues and as the protests get louder, more violent I am left wondering if these events and events to come play into a larger, more evil plan.
I can't help but think that at some point in the near future there will be a terrible event, an attack or attacks on the very fabric and heart of America and that these events will lead to an Obama dictatorship.
I know it sounds a little crazy but I'm sure that there were many folks in pre-war Germany who felt exactly the same way, it could never happen here...could it?

I suspect that may Jews were surprised that their fellow Jews would turn and help the Nazi’s.

Didn’t take long for boston to shut down. It wouldn’t be hard with a little imagination and I have a big one. my gold plated foil hat is HHHUUUUUGE. Not as big as DT would need.

Your speculations are ‘ifs’ as well.
So, if your ‘if’ is correct, and no one is willing to fight, what then?

This if was just me worrying, there is a lot going on right now that should cause a thinking person some concern.
I believe some would fight if it came to that and a heavily militarized government, many trained in combat would prove overwhelming.
Those in power wouldn't have to kill many to set an example to the rest, a show of force would deter a great many people from resisting.
Like I said, this is just me speculating, a Saturday night on FR, no more no less, I don't have any insider info, I read the news like everyone else and this is just one of the ideas that have crossed my mind.

LOL! Imagination is an admirable trait. Yeh, the fascist cops shut down Boston, a city. Agreed. Try shutting down a 500 sq. mi. county filled with combat vets and hunters. The city cops will meet hard resistance at 500 yards out and better.

And hunters and combat vets will find it hard to hide from helicopters and armed drones.

You think the U.S. military would be sent across the land to wipe out any resistance to the dictatorship you’re speculating about?

As speculation goes, it's possible and yes I think that many currently in the military and national guard would follow the commands, no matter no unlawful, of the sitting President.

Not only that Boston was locked down for a very short time under the unquestionably real premise that murdering Islamic terrorists were on the loose.
It might be a little harder to get people to sit quietly at home for an extended period of time under the premise that it was time to dump the Constitution in favor of a dictator for life. ;-)

For those reading this who are or have been in the military, how often did you ever get "the whole picture" of any given situation? Isn't more that you were given orders and you'd been trained to obey those orders?
In such a situation as this speculation goes, wouldn't it be possible to get troops to follow orders based on little or no information and in some cases even outright lies?

“I believe that are a fair number of police and military who will follow the lead of the President no matter what the situation, not all but many will.”
Okay, we have some recent estimates on the numbers who will follow orders and who, exactly, will follow those orders. They come to us from Libya. I happened to be doing independent contract work for Israeli companies when the Libyan civil war broke out.
In 2011, Qaddhafi ordered his army to fire on Libyans who resisted his dictatorship. Big mistake. About 75% of the Libyan soldiers deserted and headed home to protect their families. Qaddhafi was forced to call out his mercenary southern army.
The mercenary army attacked Libyan students. Bad mistake. Libyans exploded in rage. The army deserters joined with the provincial militias and attacked Qaddhafi’s palace guard, the mercenary army and the remnants of Libya’s army who didn’t desert. These remnants were mostly cadets (similar to what we call boots) led by thieving senior officers who tried to use them as cannon fodder so they could escape with their stolen goods and money. In a nutshell, both the southern mercenary army and the cadets were slaughtered and shoveled into mass graves.
IOW, those who stay and decide to follow orders will be killed. That’s the Libyan example.

very election year someone on FR posts that there wont be an election due to Obama declaring martial law. Generally, I agree with you. But for some reason this year feels different in every respect. It's much more confrontational, and is increasingly headed towards violence.
Martial Law may be a bit of a stretch, but I wouldn't be surprised if things went in that direction if the left (and it looks like they are going to) lose their control over the levers of power.

What makes you think choppers and drones will get off the ground? You need protected perimeters and a lot of trained personnel to make that happen.
