Questions —
why do lesbians and blacks in particular, claim to have been victims of homophobia, racism, bigotry, hatred for who they are and all that???
Why is it that actual incidents such as these are so rare, if conservative types are allegedly so full of hatred for these allegedly marginalized groups of people??
Why do certain people feel compelled to make up alleged stories of cruelty perpetrated upon them, when actual incidents such as these are not happening to them???
Because lying about it works for them. People will still remember the original accusation even after it has been proven a lie.
Because it's the only way they can get people to pay attention to them.

It bothers them that other people never notice they exist.
It’s the seriousness of the allegation that matters...not whether it happened

My 2 pennies - the mere fact that 99.99% of conservatives don’t really care about their lifestyle completely grates on them.. they have to be victims and different and in your face and oppressed..
When that is not the case their entire mental concept of life is out of order.
They get media attention and it can be profitable to be a victim. I read that if illegal aliens reports being a victim of a rime, they get to stay here. (I hope this is not true.)
Because our society rewards victim status. You can thank the left for that.
Answers to your questions:
Our culture today, or a large segment of it, includes victimhood. We can call it the victimhood culture. In the circles of those who have learned, excepted and embraced the idea that they are are helpless victims do so for the sympathy, attention and also for financial gain.
It then becomes a competition to have more people feel sorry for them. They actually want to be more hated.
Others have mentioned the thirst for attention, etc.
Additional possibilities, individually or en ensemble:
1) They hate themselves.
2) They have a need to define themselves as persecuted outsiders; otherwise, they would have to look in the mirror to solve their problems.
3) Leftist activist culture pressures its acolytes to “make a difference”. Some racist/sexist/homophobic incidents no doubt happen and always will, and the perpetrators sometimes get away with it, but “communities of the oppressed” believe secret aggression against themselves is omnipresent. They want to “make a difference” by heroically bringing the invisible problem to light.
4) In their world view, there is no Truth or single reality, just perspectives and what is useful, so fake incidents are just as valid as real ones.
Based on that tiny shiner, this one wasn’t very committed. No hate speech intended, but for a person with 40” upper arms, she must punch like a little girl.
