Cruz is slipping off the bottom of the page for me, on this one.
You shouldn’t drink the Kool-aid, I used to be a radical leftwing Democrat.
Ford changed my direction towards conservatism when he pardoned Nixon. I reread the US Contitution then read, what should be required teading in schools, The Federalist Papers.
Then Reagan sealed the deal.
Cool another GOPer just outted him/herself, thanks for playing. Of course you do realize that the establishment would only side with Cruz if Cruz agree to some/all of their agenda. That is how it works in the real world.
“I don’t care” may not mean what you think it means.
Most people will see those two issues as separate. IOW, the candidate Trump can be a disaster, and separately, the party can be a disaster.
Speaking for myself, I see destruction of the party as a good thing, because the party is actively working to undermine the health of the nation. As a means to obtain office, the party is useful, it exists, and it provides ballot access and access to all sorts of legislative, executive and judicial widgets for those who obtain office.
I think both Trump and Cruz are "anti-party," in that both see the GOP as feckless in advancing US national interests (tax policy, foreign policy, federalism policy), and in a sense, both are selling themselves as transforming the good-old-boy status-quo corrupt form of the GOP into a party that actually practices what it preaches.
This perpetual insulting of Donald Trump voters by Ted and others are the exact reason Republicans haven’t had a solid victory since 1988.
The reality is the folks running the part represent a minority viewpoint within the party, and they have for decades called anyone who doesn’t support them stupid.
How does Ted remotely think he can win the presidency, assuming he should miraculously pull out the nomination, if he’s just called 30-40% of his base low informed, or disengaged? Granted its not as bad as stupid, like others in the party have labeled Trump supporters, but it still isn’t a smart move.
I’ve met plenty of Trump supporters who are incredibly engaged, and informed.
I am not engaged by the angry meme or lack of political correctness although I am amused by them. I am drawn by a flawed human like myself who truly loves this country and wants our greatness back. I don’t need a televangelist, I need a President who loves America!
Excuse Me?!
Damn Ted. You *were* my Plan B. Not any more.
and there are plenty of them on FR these days.
Just had an answer on another thread from a Trump supporter who insinuated Trump is another John Belushi in Animal House.
Man does that fit.
...and Jeb didn’t need conservatives to win.
You nailed it. My experience is that Trump supporters are ill informed, and it's because s significant part of their mis-information comes from Trump. Trump does not tell the WHOLE truth, and sometimes doesn't tell the truth at all.
So you were “undecided” prior to Cruz’s comment? Trying to silence a message you don’t like, is typical of people who are making decisions based on emotions rather than using their brains. This is a politically inflammable thread, if you can’t stand the heat.....
Marco FoamBoy Rubio is not a NBC, both his parents were NOT citizens when he was born
Cruz just sinks lower and lower in his quest to be the favorite GOPe guy.
“Ive met plenty of Trump supporters who are incredibly engaged, and informed.’
Yeah, and I just met a FR Trump supporter on another thread who compared Trump with JOhn Belushi in Animal House. Food fight anyone?
Like Sarah Palin said, “Trump is the first wave crashing on the shore of the take down the GOPe.” Paraphrased.
Conservatives are not responsible for the negatives you listed, it was the capitulating “realist” GOPe that brought about our demise. They campaign as conservatives but that was all,,, Ironically the angry mob has chosen a capitulating “realist” Trump to put their thumb in the eye of the GOPe. So in the end all we will have achieved is flipping the bird to the establishment while simultaneously continuing down our path of destruction. Cronyism will continue to flourish, governmental health care will overcome us all, and a “flexible” approach to illegal immigration will win the day. The vast shadow government will continue unchecked as the Constitution is left bleeding on the side of the road. All hail the Trump!
Thanks for the motivational speech Teddy. I’m engaged at 95% now. I will kick it up a bit. I’m starting to dislike his arrogance a lot. Now I know why know one likes him as a person. He needs to have his dad reprogram him.
"There is no better example of this than Calgary Teds actions surrounding the big Wall Street banks and their secret funding of his political ascension. Cruz has been gorging at the table of the ultimate insider of all insiders Goldman Sachs and Citibank ."
"What else would you expect a scoundrel to say who had secretly secured big sweetheart loans from Goldman and Citibank by leveraging his retirement accounts to fund his 2012 U.S. Senate campaign. Loans which the Calgary Ted conveniently forgot to disclose to the Federal Election Commission. These are the very retirement accounts that he said he and his wife said he cashed in to fund his senate race. In other words, Ted lied."
""Chad Sweet, Ted Cruzs campaign chairman, is a former CIA officer. Michael Chertoff, George W. Bushs former Secretary of Homeland Security, hired Sweet from Goldman Sachs to restructure and optimize the flow of information between the CIA, FBI and other members of the national security community and DHS. Chertoff and Sweet co-founded the Chertoff Group upon leaving the administration."
"The ultimate hypocrisy of the native born Canadian is that his spouse, Heidi, by all accounts a lovely wife and mother, has been employed by Goldman Sachs since 2005. She is on leave as managing director and regional head of private wealth management. Heidi is a proud member of the lefty Council on Foreign Relations, advocates of one world government and the New World Order."
His choice will be and industry giant, not a politician.
