Mark Levin tonight, on his newly launched LevinTV, announced his support for Ted Cruz, as the next president of the United States.
Levin, said that Cruz supports and fights for the 'Constitution, the Republic, individual sovereignty, separation of powers, the Bill of Rights, family, faith, a secure border, and our national security. '
Levin said that he knows Cruz isn't perfect, but looking at the 'whole picture' and looking at the entire career of Cruz it really is 'a simple decision.'
He went on to say that his support of Cruz isn't because of opposition to Donald Trump, John Kasich, or Marco Rubio. Instead, it is because Cruz understands where this country has been and where it needs to go.
Levin also said that if Cruz secures the GOP nomination, Cruz would win because facing Hillary he would know how to defeat her and know how to win.
For more about why Levin is backing Ted Cruz, watch the third episode of LevinTV here.
No one said end the republic. Is that what you are implying? Is that the only way to reverse progressivism? We better hope not, cause I tell you, there will never be a convention of states. You can never get more than 27 or so states to sign on.
On some issues. However, he has endorsed in the past, only to find out the person he endorsed wasn’t what they seemed to be. He lacks good judgment.
Until he got on his Cruzade, I really liked Mark Levin, but I could only listen for a few minutes once in a while. The yelling and the abrasiveness just gets on my nerves. I never feel that way listening to Rush.
And so are the "objective facts" leveled at Trump supporters, but you'd never know it to listen to Cruz people.
Ted is a constutionalist when it suits his purposes - such as saying it makes him eligible to be president - which it doesn’t.
You’ve got that right. mI turned him off 2 months ago, and haven’t listened to him once since then. It has been a great experience.
You truly are naive. All lawyers sue, they win some, they lose some. None go into the courtroom to lose - Geesh! I thought I had heard everything, but this takes the cake.
I doubt you have met Jeff Sessions, but, he didn’t endorse Ted - I wonder why? I know the reason and it’s because Ted is selling out this country through TPP. I don’t expect you to believe this, because like all Cruzbots - you have a brick between your ears. You live in denial.
Perhaps you should try being more even-handed?
Well, Ted isn’t eligible if one goes by the original intent of the founding fathers. No one will ever convince me or many others that Ted is eligible.
Nobody has to say "end the republic". All that's required is for enough of us to just stop defending it and exercising it's authority.
Lawyers will sue as long as someone is willing to pay their legal fees.
The only thing that can keep it from happening is for enough people like you to convince enough other people that it can't be done.
Levin is GREAT! A committed Conservative Constitutionalist to the core. Has been a big favorite here on FR for many, many years. Anbody who would excoriate this man for whatever reason must be a communist or have other agendae. Keep the endorsements coming.
I think some do have another agenda. I remember the days when it would have gotten them ZOTTED. Sadly, those days are gone.
Well that describes RedState or RightPoop. They are truly Fascist sites these days. That's what you wish for?
As for Levin, and his former fans, well, everyone changes. As it happens, I'm a founding listener and admirer of his since he first phoned in to Rush, and then became F.Lee, and then his "official" counsel, and then he substituted for him and Hannity, and then his own weekly show local up here in NY on WABC, and then daily, and then finally nationally.
All our guys who followed in the wake of Ronaldus Maximus and then Rush ( 1988 ) such as Hannity, Levin and countless others have helped to sheep-herd conservatives into a quasi-religion they call conservatism, and among the most important ( and illogical ) sacraments is the myth of Free Trade and its evil descendant, Open Borders. It is an article of faith among them that we automatically lay down to things such as NAFTA and the rest. Rush set the standard here. All others have followed blindly. All movements away from this anti-American pro-Internationalist thinking is greeted by invectives from the enemy as well as our friends.
Additionally we have a new topic today thanks to Trump, the GOPe establishment's desperate clinging to power even at the cost of losing the Presidency over and over again so they may remain viable as the cocktail party loyal opposition feeding alongside the enemy at the taxpayer trough. Rush, and of course Levin and Hannity had never even let the term "establishment" cross their lips until this past summer, and only ever gave tepid interest in Amnesty and Open Borders up until now. Indeed, Rush was onboard with NAFTA through the Bush41 to Clinton eras, he had his infamous kneejerk support of Dubai ports, and fell hook line and sinker for Bush43 and Karl Rove ( "He's destroying the Democrat party!" ) who deftly took 90% approval ratings into the crapper and also inherited the Gingrich 104th Congress revolution and left us with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. Awesome job.
Our guys were the best thing on the radio and TV for us compared to what was out there, but they really only managed to do one thing successfully ... contain us. Now a new paradigm is arising with unusual factions uniting and no-one should expect it to follow a logical gameplan. This paradigm is pro-American, outside-the-box thinking and its no wonder that Levin despises these developments. He drips with contempt when he even mentions them and it is because he has yet to face any epiphany that he was a part of the problem all along.
Truth is, Levin was never a true Constitutionalist, no-one familiar with our history would believe John Jay was talking about foreigners when he wrote the Natural Born Citizen clause, in fact he was specifically excluding them. But more importantly, the lawyer Levin comes out of the DoJ in Attorney General Ed Meese's office. This is far from the subject of "Constitutionality", it is the statutory world of law, it is concerned with the technicalities of the moment, not grand concepts that the Founders and Framers set forth. I'll never forget Levin trying to read the Article II Section 1 requirements on the air stuttering and stumbling over the grandfather clause multiple times. He exposed the fact he never even read it before let alone had any idea of the history behind it. Rush and Levin and the others are no more qualified to talk about the Constitution than any of us.
And I should point out something else, when an actual, lifelong Constitutional scholar like Alan Keyes came along, he was marginalized by our guys as completely as anyone I have ever seen. In 2000, Rush got right onboard to the Bush43 bandwagon just as his creepy object of infatuation Mary Matalan planned, and all our guys did the same. Keyes got no traction, practically no airtime, no help. In 2008 Keyes returned as a former Senate candidate ( against Dumbo ironically ) to challenge his eligibility. Crickets from our side, and then later ridicule and marginalization. So when Levin goes all-in for a constitutional lightweight like Cruz pardon me for not giving a crap. So much irony too. A fiction writer couldn't possible make this up.
The sad truth of the matter is that Rush, Levin, Hannity and the rest all are locked in now to the mistake they made in 2008, when they took a pass on the subject of DingleBarry's middle name 'Hussein' and of course his foreign father, the first ever case for a candidate and President. It was the politically correct thing to do and they did it. Now they are stuck. With a Canadian born candidate!
"In 2001 the American Conservative Union awarded Mark Levin its Ronald Reagan Award. He was awarded the inaugural Citizens United Andrew Breitbart Defender of the First Amendment Award at CPAC in 2014."
Kind of like they did Palin and Sen. Sessions, eh.
And Ben Carson. Cruzies were viscous towards him after Iowa.
Where can I buy the rest of your book? :-)
The pious believe among Cruz supporters that all of Rubio/Kasich's voters will go to Cruz is absurd on its face.
Cruz will pick Jeb as his VP.
