If what you are saying is correct, it doesn’t say much for the integrity of any of those agencies...
I think you are grasping at straws...
I think those wanna-be heroes were just itching to shoot somebody.....

When men whom you have every reason to believe are _some_ form of LEO are setting up heavily armed roadblocks at a time you KNOW police are out to capture you by darned near any means necessary (including barely legal), the fact that they may be lying to you and “are not instantly recognizable as who they claim to be” is a very minor point. He dared them to shoot, and gave them reason to; now he’s dead, go figure.

Well, we have FBI agents already caught lying about their actions in those moments. So, as far as I’m concerned, nothing they might say is reliable.
So, yeah. audio and video and physical evidence is all we have to go on.

So? Their job was to stop him. Lying to suspects is well-defended in case law. I don’t like it any more than you do, but that’s standard operating procedure in such a case. The cop’s job isn’t to get the law perfect, it’s to apprehend suspects.

and gave them reason to No facts are on the table that prove that.

Id not be surprised at all if the Sheriff was part of the setup: just convince Finicum to leave the building and drive somewhere he could be ambushed and arrested, shot if he does ANYTHING remotely threatening. Oh, Good God.
Do you actually KNOW anything about this other than some of the details, ctdonath?
There have been several articles posted on FR detailing that the dispatcher was treating her? own Sheriff as an "untrusted person" when he was trying to get information about the arrests.
Go find them, and get back to us.

We’re not making excuses, you just want to impute such upon others.

Doesn't make me laugh. Makes me feel sorry for you that you would have to call attention to a post you made with another post.
Myself and others have been trying to have a decent debate/discussion of this and you jump in and start throwing feces around because someone made one mistake.
Get over yourself. Please.

He dared them to shoot, and gave them reason to; now hes dead, go figure. They'd already shot once - he was daring them to prove they were dirty little yellowback cowards.
Which they did, handily. :)

He made more than one mistake, and consistently presented facts in an incorrect light.

“unidentified men”
Does anyone have any reason to believe they were anything other than cops?
It’s not like there’s roving gangs of heavily-armed thugs setting up roadblocks in that area that _just_happened_ to encounter a “considered armed and extremely dangerous” suspect at that particular place & time.
He knew they were cops, they knew he knew, they didn’t care, their job was to stop him - NOT to cross every “i” and dot every “t” the way he wanted them to. He dared them to shoot, he gave them reason to shoot, they shot.

Im astounded that there are folks on this site who are making excuses for a government sanctioned murder of a U.S. citizen! And you call them on it, and they only get bolder.

Didn’t matter which side the Sheriff was on. Other agencies were tasked with apprehending Finicum, they got wind of the meeting, they took advantage of the situation.

How many times am I going to have to explain what's plainly on the in-truck video - that Ryan Bundy and Finicum have to PRY out of them who they say they are.
So, they weren't dressed as Oregon state police, but claimed they were.

Thanks. It does back up what I saw in the first video released.
Sounds like a lot of manpower and equipment used to stop a guy the cops knew all about and knew when and where he was going.
Reminds me of this....

Didnt matter which side the Sheriff was on. See, JBW1949 - call him on one argument, he just changes the tune, and dances off in another direction.
It is to laugh.
