Politically correct is me.

If they want to say HCMC, that is what it is named.

It is their city after all.

This place in some ways reminds me (a lot) of Thailand. But it is also hugely different. More different than I thought. Remarkably so, considering the similarities the two countries do share.

There is a strong openness to the west, it seems people are very oriented toward the outside world at the moment. But relatively less interaction dating-wise than in Thailand, it seems so far (I am still learning though). Quite a bit less in fact.

But there is on one level it seems more sincerity in a way.

I think the interactions between the cultures here is more new, and taking shape still actually. I am actually experiencing more interaction which seems genuine, than I did in Thailand, thus far. That however may be because I am trying to learn some of the language, though. So I am not certain yet.

Thailand is (much, much) more open. Remarkably nice.

Vietnam relationships, seems more like American relationships at the moment.
