Good article no matter who wrote it.
It’s pretty bad when the two front runners are Hillary and Trump.
This nation deserves much better, I hope.
Or maybe we are getting the leaders we deserve.
And you sound soooooo liberal.
It’s an op-ed, get over it.
Really? You’re not that slow are you?
Matthew 22:20-22King James Version (KJV)
21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
And David was a man after God’s own Heart. So what is your point? We shouldn’t trivialize God in this way. God would/is weeping at the lot of us. God could make Trump the greatest leader of all time. Anything is possible through him. We all fail when held up to scripture. That is why we need Jesus.
Nope...pretty sure those are all real quotes. Look em up.
This is so relevant. NOT!
Obviously you are.
Yeah right. /s>
"...or anything else either."
Um, buddy, those are Bible quotes....so, see the author’s not speaking for God, he’s pretty clearly quoting the Bible, which is pretty roundly considered the word of God.
Im somewhat horrified that had to be explained to you.
You keep posting left-wing nonsense from Townhall yet claim they are not left-wing?> The proof is in your postings. Calls your politics into question.
I don’t agree necessarily with exactly how Barber puts things here, but there is definitely something to what he says.
And I say that not only as someone who will vote for Trump in November if he’s the party’s nominee, but someone who planned to vote for him yesterday in a caucus though I had been supporting Cruz.
I ended up being not able to vote, though, because some error occurred with my name not being transferred to where I live now, and it was too close to the time the polls closed for anything to be done about it.
And I switched from Cruz to Trump not because I find him to be more Christian-acting than Cruz.
If you take just all that Trump has said and done over the last five years or so, and consider his statements such as that he doesn’t believe he’s ever done anything that needs God’s forgiveness, it’s clear he’s been liberal and humanist minded.
Now, he’s either having some change of heart, or for reasons unknown, he is willing to be a voice for evangelical Christians/conservatives.
He is speaking some things that need to be said, things others are suppressing, and he’s publicly taking these stands, meaning that he is making promises to evangelical Christians/conservatives, which he can be to account for.
Whether he’s sincerely having a change of heart or not, that’s hard to say, but it’s some of his messages that it seems to me so many people are voting for, and as for the question of his own sincerity, there is also ample reason to doubt the sincerity of every other politician as well.
As we all know, we aren’t voting for a pastor, but someone to lead a country of people with many viewpoints, and the same goes for the Republican Party to a large extent as well. Many of these other viewpoints are fundamentally opposed to Christianity.
Trump in part represents some of these other viewpoints, while he is also willing to be a political voice for evangelical Christians/conservatives. He could not be an evangelical Christian, however, with his profession that He doesn’t need God’s forgiveness.
Maybe at some point He will have a true change of heart and mind, and perhaps he’s never had the Gospel clearly presented to him, but in any case, he’s willing to represent evangelical Christians/conservatives, and say some things that have needed to be said, which others in the Republican party haven’t.
The real problem the GOP establishment has isn’t with Trump, just as it isn’t with Cruz. It’s with them wanting to suppress most of their base.
PING!!

Ridiculous BEE ESS. Some people clearly have too much time on their hands.
You have to be a leftist not to support Trump?
I think God speaks for Himself here as these are quotes from the Bible, assuming you believe the Bible is the word of God.
"When you reap your harvest in your field and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow, in order that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. "When you beat your olive tree, you shall not go over the boughs again; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow. "When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not go over it again; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow." The reasoning is because the Israelites were aliens in Egypt and Egypt will be blessed when the Messiah returns. I think America has a similar history, celebrated at Thanksgiving?
