You may be right. It’s just a movie. Just a movie.
That thing made 40 years later with the same title is not Ocean's 11.
They made a movie to destroy what now? It’s a good thing they’re not making them to entertain anyone anymore.
They should have listened to the fans well over a year ago and just left this one alone.
I recall some black comedian talking about horror flicks. Something like
“Now you never see black folks in horror flicks - nah, nah. I mean - at the very beginning, when the blood comes out of the faucet - we’s be OUT OF THERE! Only them white people are too stupid to keeping hanging out in the house!”
I’ve got a great idea for the next big Hollywood blockbuster - remake Blazing Saddles with the racial and sexual roles reversed. Sheriff Bart to be played by Rachael Maddow, The Waco Kid by Miley Cyrus, and with Bruce Jenner as Lili von Shtupp. Mel Brooks is probably too old to be the Governor, so he will be replaced by Melissa Harris-Perry (since she is at loose ends at the moment). Valerie Jarrett would be perfect as Headley Lamarr. The secretary would be Bruce Jenner, playing dual roles. The cowboys would all be homosexuals, with Barak Obama as Mongo. The people of Rock Ridge would all be illegal aliens, all named Hernandez.
Sometimes it works. Both versions of True Grit were excellent.
but nearly every other remake was bad.
What it reason for remakes? Money. And lack of creativity.
LOTR was certainly better in the remake than the cartoon initial attempt. But most remakes don’t cut it.
Eddie Murphy did an HBO special that included riffing on that theme. I think “The Amityville Horror” had just come out.
“Sometimes it works. Both versions of True Grit were excellent. “
Yes it was. That was six years ago. I can’t recall one that was before or after.
I already know this movie will be a record-breaking flop, and here’s why:
The original Ghostbusters movie was a conservative story. MEN get fired from a liberal job, take a risk by mortgaging their (Ray’s) future, open a business that is successful. Then the F’in government EPA regulator comes in and screws everything up, and blames the company for his mess.
The government tries to solve the problem THEY created, but in the end, they need the private enterprise guys to come in and “save the day.”
I GUARANTEE you the movie was remade so they could change that “bad” storyline just enough to make it a gay-communist-feminazi love-fest.
