The IRS has some pretty clear rules as to a home office deduction. My questions are on decorations. I do not want to use any decoration expenses. I do however want an aquarium in my office and some items like an alligator head, stereo etc. Can anyone tell me if items like these are allowed in my home office?

eventually. Husband turned a teeny tiny room into an office;
and an alligator head would take up the whole room. How
about a goldfish bowl instead of an aquarium. Those things
get to where they’re a pip to clean! SIL finally gave up on
hers when it came to the place where it was taking over her
life. I think she once accidentally (she claims) poured the
fish down into the garbage disposal.

I appreciate all the help. To clarify I do not wish or seek to deduct any related expense to the aquarium, just have it in my home office. I wouldn’t even think of using the tank as an expense. My question is on the exclusive use. I want one but I’m not sure if its ok.
