An important point on Trump’s electability: winning the Presidency is a state by state thing.
Trump can lose the popular vote nationally via massive losses on the West Coast and in New England, but still win the Presidency in the electoral college. National polls generally mirror the eventual outcome, but this is already a highly unusual race where the usual rules apply. State by state breakdowns are what matter.
OH is important. So is that recent poll showing Trump a real contender in NY.
If Trump's the nominee he'll turn all our recent calculations on their ear. I heard a guy on CNN last week say that Trump can never win VA and therefore can never win the election. That's bogus because Trump will put all of NE, NY PA, NJ and the rust belt in play. He's not George Bush. FL and OH will still be important states to win but they will not be the be all and end all for the Republican this year if Trump's the nominee.
