I agree. My daughter is 30, married, has a good job at a bank. Paid off her student loan in 1 year. Because of that, she and her husband qualified for a low-interest loan and built a new home.
It’s has a lot to do with ambition and drive.
Yes, I have to give them credit. They both studied hard and wanted to graduate as quickly as possible to hit the job market, got top grades. One had enough credits to graduate in her third year but decided to take more courses for a fourth year. My oldest told me that one just showing up breathing was enough to pass, a remark intended for the students allowed into college who don't belong there and the corresponding lowering of standards.
