Well it wasn’t a ruse it was not question but so far I have received a lot of vindictive snarky answers in France but not so much the actual expression or quotation from Trump himself or from any of his supporters as to why he felt he couldn’t have beaten Barack Obama in the election if I would answer the question myself, the only reasonable answer I can see is he just didn’t want to which does put a little bit less impressive in this to his decision to run this time.

You said nothing about Barack Obama. All the answers were about his reasons, mostly having to do with his family and business -- it wasn't the right time for him -- and also, a number of the answers were that Romney should have been able to win and all of us who tried to support a GOP candidate over BHO were horrified at how terrible his campaign was; therefore Trump realized that, like the old saying, if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.
