"Deadliest Catch's" Captain Sig Hansen has been hospitalized, a rep for Discovery confirmed to FOX411.

In a deleted post, his daughter shared a photo of her dad in the hospital. She wrote alongside the photo he had suffered a heart attack.

"Capt survived the 'widowmaker'!! Beating a heart attack ain't easy. Welcome back boss," Mandy Marie Hansen wrote on Instagram.

In a statement, Discovery said Hansen experienced chest pain during a taping of the show.

"While Sig was determined to keep going, the crew acted swiftly and insisted that they dock to get him help. He was airlifted to Anchorage, Alaska, and immediately rushed to a medical facility. He is with his family and in good spirits," the statement read.

Last year, "Deadliest Catch" star Tony Lara died of a heart attack while attending a motorcycle rally in Sturgis, S.D.

Phil was my favorite and still is.
Sig is a close second.
He’s done a lot of good things for the youngsters, trying to make Jake into a captain and working with Phil’s boy to get him going.

Get well Sig, hope to see you on DC for years to come.

From what I remember on the story of The Northwestern his dad went that way. One of the brothers Norman found their dad. It's the deadliest & roughest seas in the world no pretense to that.

Smokes like a soggy bonfire. Stresses over the smallest things. Not averse to pulling a cork, so I hear. High-tension job. And he’s not exactly a spring chicken ...

Sounds like Edgar may be taking over sooner than he thought.

Caffeine and nicotine feed on each other. Coffee triggers the want for the cigarettes. It's easier for a non coffee drinker to stop smoking. Stress would definitely be a factor as well.

Real men don’t live their lives obsessing over how to live longer. Sig’s a man in the classical sense. Unfortunately, literally a dying breed.

He did for one bairdi season and set a record. It’s more like Sig won’t let him. Because Sig is a petty tyrant who doesn’t want to share the throne.
