TRUMP WINS "DISAVOWAL" GAME, THEN SUPER TUESDAY March 2, 2016 Do they have TV sets at CNN? An Internet connection? I don't work at a television network, but I saw Trump "disavow" David Duke a half-dozen times before Jake Tapper asked him to disavow Duke again last Sunday.
The question served absolutely no journalistic purpose. No new information was sought. It was just a smear, for the sole purpose of getting the words "KKK" into the same sentence as "Donald Trump."
Unsuspecting viewers who missed Trump's earlier disavowals are supposed to think, Is Trump connected with the Klan? Why else would they be asking him about David Duke?
Given that Trump did disavow Duke the day before the Tapper interview, the only explanation for his refusal to do it again is that he was ticked off by the question and decided not to play ball. (Tip for journalists: When WASPs don't want to answer impertinent questions from reporters, they often say, "I don't know," rather than the more urban "go f---yourself.")
How many times must Trump waste precious airtime "disavowing" some random person he doesn't know, has never met and never mentioned?
David Duke IS a random person: The KKK has not been an organization of any significance since the mid-'60s (outside of Southern Poverty Law Center fundraisers), and David Duke hasn't been a member of this meaningless group since 1980.
Also, David Duke has never been accused of rape. Hillary's most prominent supporter has. Will she be asked to disavow Bill Clinton?

I wonder if the media will ask Sanders and Clinton to denounce the Southern Poverty Law Center they are a racist organization
Being asked multiple times to disavow the KKK is a good thing. Each time you are asked is an opportunity to state your disapproval every time.
Well get ready to hear it at the Fox debate tomorrow night. Trump is nuts if he bothers to show up. Carson is out so if Trump dumps on it there will be the three losers taking gotcha questions from Meggie. Boring.
I’d be fine with Trump demanding Hillary denounce BLM.
Hillary says police “terrorize” black neighborhoods and she keeps telling stories of police murdering blacks.
It’s racist, radical, and she needs to be called out on it.
The media won’t ask Hillary Clinton to denounce BLM, they adore BLM, they support everything that comes out of their mouths thats why they dont report on cops who have gotten murdered these past few weeks, BLM goes on twitter and CHEERS these deaths..how about the Black Panthers, who call for the murder of white people, guess that is A OK too
Yeah, the Clinton grifters. They’re the same ones that Trump gave so much money to in the past, over 100K to their foundation. It was grifter Bill who urged Trump to run as a Republican. And what Ann (formerly a Mitt Romney and Chris Chritie supporter) neglected to address is that Trump’s own son will need Ann to write some apologia for him too. The Trump campaign gave press credentials to a racist reporter/blogger named James Edwards (and a parking place no less). Edwards praises slavery, so he’s not merely a misunderstood man. He’s a full blown racist crank. And the Trump campaign has not been so generous with journalists in most instances. Donald Jr. is even going on the loons show. Isn’t that special? I kid you not. If anyone has tried to act like the Left’s caricature of a conservative, it’s Donald Trump and his son. But hey, at least he has not stabbed us in the back like the RINOs, as Trump supporters like to say.
Guess what happened when Trump didn’t disavow to Tapper?
This was the main media story from then to super tuesday. Cruz and Rubio got some mention but not nearly as much as they may have without the KKK story. Or, I should say “non-story” since even the media brought up how Trump had disavowed for 2 days before every time they talked about it. They have to be fair to him and admit it’s a non-story or he kills them even more in speeches and twitter.
Maybe it was an earpiece malfunction and luck. But once again Trump had the media talking about him instead of his opponents or issues and a story where the voters said “who cares - he disavowed friday so what’s the story”. At some point it stops looking like luck and looks like Trump knows how to play the media - probably the single most important asset for an R running against Hillary.
It caused my sister to rethink her vote for him in VA. May have shoved her to Rubio, don't know. I said I'd heard him disavow and disavow, but she didn't like his answer that once, and it troubled her.
I so don't trust the press. As for Trump, didn't he push for Jews and Blacks to be admitted to exclusive clubs in FL — long before he was running for president? Doesn't pass the sniff test.
This primary will go down as the dirtiest in modern history. Amazing that some have sold their souls for a vote. I won’t forget.
Hillary is the absolute most vile. She is giving speeches down in the south telling blacks they are poor or jobless because of racism, white supremacy, she is just scum of the earth. Read this......

ann is not an honest arbiter, Trump made a rather costly mistake when he contradicted himself about knowing or not knowing of david duke.
IT will be used Against him if he get the nomination. few things are as damaging as ones own words.
That was precisely my thought as I read the article.
It's really about how brutal the left wants this fight to be. They haven't encountered a Republican like Trump before. I think he'll cut them to pieces and leave them scattered in the streets.
#President Trump!!!
I saw the interview live and it seemed to me that he was not fully understanding the question. Trump said he did not hear the name clearly.
That being said, I think the continued drumbeat of the KKK story hurt him on Super Tuesday like the last minute DWI story hurt Bush the weekend before the election.
I think it was a setup to give the media something to hammer him on. I have seen the politics at the worst and I know how evil people can set you up. It was a political hit job.
