I’ve heard that many parts of San Francisco have the unmistakable miserable stench of urine in the air.
SF has tried to be very lenient and liberal with homeless, nudists, extremists in the LGBT community, etc. But where does being liberal get you???? You end up pushing the envelope too far, and then decent people avoid your city.
Unfortunately, that is still true in certain areas of town, and under certain weather conditions. There are some beautiful areas to see, just be careful where you sit or place your belongings. Some areas are almost too popular.
My gym 24hr fitness is in the city of Larkspur. A few yards from the gym, you will find the Ferry Boats. I love going on the Ferry Boats when I’m not in any big rush. One of the few things I miss not being in the Navy, is traveling on the water. Problem is, many people use the boats as regular transportation to get to work, so all the little ships are filled during the day. That provides good money for the county, and it brings people together for a while. I long ago stopped trying to use the Streetcars, too full, and long lines awaiting. But again, it’s good money and ambiance for The City.
