Practically, so long as there’s no third party run, dissension amongst GOP leadership could save a lot of down ticket races.

Nope. Romney and his shoe shine boy Sasse are trying to damage Trump so badly he can’t win the general. They want amnesty and TPP. Hillary gives them those billions in crony cash. Trump does not.
Sensible idea for Sasse. If he was elected as a tea party candidate and apparently has stayed true to that, he should be re-elected. I don’t know if he’s up for election this time.
