I think you have a good point.
Libel laws in the UK are much more strict and they inhibit free speech IMO.
Even under current laws a person can be sued into silence unless they have lots of money. Look at what is happening to Mark Steyn.
One of the major ways to change that is to make losers pay all fees, and eliminate forum shopping. Under current rules, only the deep pockets can handle “business” decisions to sue or threaten to sue the small guy into submission or total destruction.
Yes. Steyn is a good example.
We don’t need to be more like Europe or Canada.
