He could be that, there is no doubt. But I don’t think the band could have held together as long as they did and produced the quantity and quality of music they did if Lennon generally acted like that. Lennon-McCartney is hands down the greatest songwriting team of the 20th century. Of Lennon Paul said, “His public persona was really just bravado.”
I thought the Beatles were over rated at the time but
they were unique at their start. I don’t happen to think
they were the greatest at anything but to each his own.
