Well, if Trump is giving or appearing to give false information about IRS procedures, then they have a right to correct that, don't they? One could have interpreted his statement last night to mean he was being prevented by the IRS from releasing his returns while they were being audited... Trump said that on advise of council not to release tax returns until audit is finished.
Any lawyer worth anything would give the same advise.

Trump said that on advise of council not to release tax returns until audit is finished. Okay, fair enough. So what is wrong with the statement the IRS released? It doesn't seem to contradict anything Trump said. And can we assume that Trump will soon release the returns for the years for which the audits have been completed?
