“It truly amazes me how people can be scared of the Clintons. They have a mountain of corruption trailing them and all it takes is for Trump to merely point it all out. He won’t even have to repeat himself.”

It’s not quite that simple. The Clinton organization will hit Trump on all sides and he’ll be on defense 24/7. They take it to a new level.

FReeper please!

Only an idiot dismisses an articulate, reasoned, response with “I know what you’re REALLY doing.”

Kinda like when people point out Trump's flaws, and his supporters come out and call the people exposing the flaws "Rino pukes" like was done up-thread. Yep, really idiotic. I agree.

This lawsuit has been moving forward for years. I'm sorry that you think that a demagogic con man should get a pass for fraud because he is now running for president.

Please burn your copy of the US Constitution, Federalist Papers, and "Democracy in America," because you have no use for them.

Sounds like what is going on now.

No brainiac. It's not "kinda like," though I'm not surprised the distinction escapes you.

When someone lays out their case in a reasonable manner, and you respond with an accusation against their character, wholly incongruous with their previously demonstrated reasonableness, the problem is you.

Again, you are describing Trump supporters’ reactions to the facts about Trump’s past.

That’s the ticket! stick your fingers in your ears to drown out the sound of Hillary Clinton laughing at you.

You are such a blithering idiot, it would be amusing if it weren’t so pathetic.

Trump, the crony capitalist and influence buying billionaire, is going to save you from the “Olicrachs” (sic) - because he is all of a sudden a patriot, and pro-freedom, despite a lifetime of liberalism.

No, but again, I'm not surprised by your inability to rightly discern the difference.

Trump supporters on FreeRepublic have been turning on the Cruz people because of the latter' poisonous rhetoric in attempting to persuade the former to agree with their conclusions.

As a loooong time FReeper, I'm pretty much immune to assaults against my orthodoxy. Others have taken such assaults VERY personally.

I have enough perspective to understand the Trump people are furious at the Cruz people for not accepting their choice with goodwill, but rather with sophomoric insults.

Seriously. With what you have been spewing in these forums, you think you are in a position to dress someone down like that?!?!

A simple search shows the truth about how you have been talking to Cruz supporters.

Now talk the merits of this case. Is a class action fraud suit a problem for Trump?

Trump people are furious

Pretty much. Whenever you say something about their candidate's past that they don't like, the venom begins to flow.

They wanted it handed to them? Didn’t want to actually work it?

FAIL!

Pure, compensatory, fantasy. No one who supports Trump has any delusions about his history.

What gets under his supporters skin is Cruz supporters brooking no opposition that his history disqualifies Trump from consideration by "real" conservatives.

It's that supercilious presumption of superior intellect for thinking in tactical terms, rather than systemic, that pisses off supporters who know better.

How can you, as someone who claims to have “no delusions” about Trump’s history, not be even the slightest bit suspicious about Trump considering that just a few years ago he was praising Hillary and Pelosi(among other things)?

I'm glad you asked.

Trump has always enjoyed being part of the glitterati. Like those who wish to succeed in the Hollywood environment, or the power elite of Washington, a certain part has to be played. It's theater.

Where Trump differs from other "beautiful people" is that he is NOT strictly a "performance artist," like so many others in the circles he traveled. The core of Trump is the pragmatic businessman. That pragmatic businessman has undertaken the job of correcting the things he sees destroying the country he loves. As such, he has "come out of the closet" to rally support for taking authority away from those he has judged incompetent to guide the country he loves.

Is he up to the task?

I don't know.

I do know those running against him are not. Cruz, because of his inability to effectively neutralize media opposition (something I consider paramount in the modern political environment, particularly for a leader who is taking positions squarely in opposition to the dominant media's cultural agenda). Rubio, because of his willingness to capitulate to establishment procedure and protocol. Carson, because of his lack of personal charisma and leadership skills.

I don't think anyone else bears consideration at this point.

My political inclinations have always put me squarely in the Cruz camp. (I believe I was one of the first FReepers to advocate for a Trump/Cruz ticket.) But in modern times, the dynamic of the Presidency is not about policy, it's about power; who can acquire it, and who can use it most effectively to accomplish the goals I want to see met.

Trump fits my requirements by already demonstrating his refusal to play by "old boy network" rules that have prevented ANY substantive gains for conservative policies in my lifetime, and win while doing it. Furthermore, by dominating an aggressive, adversarial media with a skill that surpasses even that of Ronald Reagan.

Thanks for responding. But can you talk more about your views on Trump’s questionable political views in the past (not his business capabilities) versus what he is saying in the now? I mean, what if he is just saying a lot of stuff to get elected and doesn’t mean much of it? Based on his support for liberals and liberal views in the past, what gives you the feeling you can trust him now?
