A Charlotte woman who police believe was distracted by her cell phone drove into a stopped tractor-trailer that had been involved in a collision in Gaston County, sending her to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The series of wrecks happened on Interstate 85 southbound near Long Avenue just before 9 a.m. Sunday. A tractor-trailer traveling in the right lane was struck by a Honda Pilot SUV that was trying to merge from the middle lane.

He must have forgotten the license and his eyeglasses on the bureau. Poor fella. /sarc.
“Aundrea” Parsons.
Face palm.
My sister likes to post to Facebook while driving.
you need to take out a life insurance policy on her
Ah, capitalism! Lol!
Cell phones don’t cause many wrecks in my opinion. Only when you text on one. Texting is the big killer.
And people wonder why I look forward to robot driven cars...
We never had this problem with horses. ;/
And people wonder why I welcome the coming EMP.
It depends on how intense the conversation is. I was approaching an intersection with a green light when a guy with a cell phone to his head went right through the red light. If I was going faster or a second or so sooner I would have rammed him in the door.
This isn’t the kind of people we are. This goes against our culture.
Or the person could have been sitting right next to the driver having the same intense conversation. Same result.
My new 2012 explorer was rear ended at a light by a distracted driver. Car totaled at 10 months old. Wife went to hospital but was released a few hours later. The cops didnt bother to take the phone for evidence. Didn’t want the extra work. As it was we got back more for the vehicle than I paid for it. And all medical care was paid for.
I wonder if Christopher Reeve was texting?
I had that happen to me at a two way stop. I was the cross traffic. *itch in her SUV chatting on the phone.
Honk if you love Jesus.
Text and drive if you want to meet Him.
Most of my driving is in or around the Charlotte area and I can say, from my observance, that easily up to 85 to 90% of similar behavior is practiced by black females. Yea, I know . . . . THAT’S RACISSSSSST .
Are there not laws about use of the cell phone when driving? I take no calls or messages until I’m parked.
My horses only call after they’ve pulled over safely to the side of the road. Haha
