It’s not about the officers protesting. It’s about the fact that off duty police officers will refuse to work private security detals for her concert. It’s a little known fact that a lot of large venues in cities depend on off duty cops to fill the ranks of their event security. No security, the insurance company refuses to insure the concert

I can’t speak to concerts, but I know for a fact that off duty cops provide security for some of the construction sites In Indy.
I did a project in a small town of about 500 people. The Town Marshal had multiple used squad cars, police motorcycles, boat, and even a surplus military 4x4.
I asked him myself “why?”. He told me he contracted with the project managers and hired off duty officers to use them for security. Some projects downtown required a duly sworn officer of the law on site. For example, he provided security for Lucas Stadium when it was built.
