You might have seen Dan's piece on Friday about the food crisis in Venezuela, or earlier in the week about the fact that young Bernie Sanders supporters demonstrate in polls that they have no idea what socialism actually is.
We've talked a lot about this both on The Herman Cain Show and here on the web site, and obviously a large part of the problem is that young voters enthusiastic for socialism don't remember real-life consequences of socialism like, say, the poverty and hopelessness that endured behind the Iron Curtain for 44 years.
Or they're convinced for some reason that this time it really would be different. Given the horrendous history of socialism I have no idea why anyone would believe that, but it's not uncommon for a young generation to think they can be the first ones to do successfully what all their predecessors failed at.

The education system teaches them that life is good on the socialist plantation.
Trump haters, take note. Too much bashing of a man because he inherited riches and then expanded upon it.
“they’re convinced for some reason that this time it really would be different”
Every socialist revolution has said the same thing only to begin the mass executions shortly after the conquest.
Think billy boy ayres and his statement about how many may have to be done away with and how many would have to be re-educated. Kinda surprised he didn’t garner a position on the lyin’ king’s staff. So to speak.
I’ve seen socialism, and communism, up close and personal. When he was in the Army back in the late 80’s, Hubby and I took a little drive through what was once East Germany around the time the wall fell and toured West and East Berlin.
Nothing more chilling than seeing cameras hooked to every street lamp, the crosses pulled off the steeples of churches, everything broken down, crumbling, gray and dismal. I’ll NEVER forget it. When we’d try to park our car in East Berlin, there was no shortage of “officers” standing around, waving us on to try to park elsewhere, because, for some silly little bureaucratic reason, some spots were restricted. You see, everything . ...EVERYTHING in these societies is controlled. They watch you like a hawk and control your every move. That’s the gist of it.
I guess this type of life appeals to people who can’t or won’t try to think for themselves, who prefer to be taken care of, and who are just downright lazy and weak minded. If you like being controlled and coddled, you will like socialism/communism.
Sounds like GREAT Britain right now.
I think you’re absolutely right. Even those who thought they controlled the population of Russia and got those nice dachas eventually ended up in gulags or shot on Stalin’s instructions. An ideology borne out of jealousy will always be a disaster.
It was not Ayers, but another guy in the Weather Underground in an interview who revealed that should their revolution succeed in taking over the country, a la Bernie, that many would have to go into reeducation camps - especially “businessmen.” He added that not all would be successfully reeducated and would have to be disposed of - the number of which he placed at 25,000,000 ... 45 years ago.
Couldn’t remember exactly if it was the “guy down the block” or one of his sub-captains. I do have a link the ‘Prairie Fire’ from back in ‘74.

If you’re interested.
No, it was an actual TV interview of the leader (not Ayers) - may still be somewhere on the web.
It should be noted that the *flip side* of socialism is the modern form of feudalism: two social classes, the ultra-wealthy, and the peasantry; a plutocratic government of internationalist, multi-billionaire corporatists as the new “nobility”, leading a gigantic bureaucracy of faceless, empty suit bureaucrats.
Two sides of the same, tyrannical coin. The Democrats being the socialists, and the GOP-e, RINO, Republican leadership being the corporatists. Neither group are patriotic or loyal to America and Americans.
This is not to say that *all* rich people are like this. But unless they are patriotic, conservative, distrustful of internationalism, and believers in republican democracy, they *are* indeed the enemy.
It should be noted that such corporatists see socialists as gullible imbeciles, whose only value being to unwittingly advance the corporatist, plutocratic agenda.
Can't do?
Then, SHUT UP!!!
I know we’re richer than a lot of folks and poorer than a lot of folks. Does that make us in the middle? Sometimes we feel terribly rich. Other times we feel terribly poor. LOL!
Anyone who has got more stuff then me is rich.
GIMME your stuff!! : )
I have never received a paycheck from a poor man.
Did you at least receive a paycheck from somebody before you were 40? I think that’s when uncle bernie actually started getting a regular check. Of course tax payer funded. And, ever since. So, we’ve been bailing him out for, what, 34 years now?
