Philippines 1911, when Gen. “Black” Jack Pershing was in command of the garrison. There had been numerous Islamic terrorist attacks, so “Black Jack” told his men to capture a group of the terrorists and force them to dig their own graves. The terrorists were then tied to posts around a large pit. Soldiers then brought in pigs and slaughtered them, rubbing their bullets in the blood and fat. The terrorists were terrorized; they saw that they would be contaminated with pigs’ blood. This would mean that they could not enter Heaven, even if they died as terrorist martyrs. Pershing had all but one shot and told the last one to tell what he’d seen.
