I had a discussion with my lefty son earlier today about this. I told him that McCain and Romney lost because so many stayed home because these were not their ideal candidates. His comment was that if people stayed home and let the opposition run their country because they didn’t get the nomination they wanted, then conservatives are not very bright.
Unfortunately, that’s when I had to abandon the argument.
Just needs a little more thought regards how well liberalism/socialism works so well everywhere it has been implemented.
