Confederate soldiers have been declared American Veterans by congress. The flag means a lot to many southerners and Trump is wrong if he thinks the only place it belongs is in a museum.
It’s ridiculous for the victor to add new penalties and punishment to the loser in a war 150 years after the fact. The war is over and demanding more reparations now is over the line. We wouldn’t go to Japan and start demanding they change their flag or give up more stuff now on account of WW2.
Them wanting to get rid of the flag isn’t about the Civil War and if it isn’t about the war, then they don’t even have an iota of a flimsy excuse for doing it. It is a brand new cultural imperialism from the left that didn’t exist a mere 30 years ago when even Hollywood produced popular TV shows showcasing the flag (Dukes of Hazzard).
A Confederate veterans family group is planning a “Confederate Flag Day” March 5th in nearby Gettysburg.
