No, we are not being hypocritical.

Yeschersitsy was actually a Trump supporter who liked making sarcastic posts to make Cruz supporters look bad. However, if you examine Yeschersitsiy’s past posts its clear that he was supporting Trump.

Pollywog and myself have both blasted some Trump supporters who seem to view Trump as a Messiah rather than a political candidate. They demonstrate this when they have to smear anyone who opposes Trump. There literally are some posters on here who have turned on anyone they used to respect such as Rush Limbaugh or Mark Levin just because they have not supported Trump. They also are willing to change their views on issues such as eminent domain and funding for planned parenthood just to agree with Trump. That is cult like behavior and not all Trump supporters have done this but there are more than a few that have.

In this particular post it has been shocking to see the level of hate and mockery displayed by some Trump supporters towards a respected Christian leader, Dr. Dobson just because he supports Cruz instead of Trump. Some posters have mocked him as a televangelist and compared him to Jimmy Bakker, another poster appeared to mock Jesus. This sort of behavior is horrifying to us Christians. Is FR now a place where Christianity and Christians are up for public mocking?

I also want to say that there are several Trump supporters on this thread who are very reasonable people who have been making reasoned arguments and have been defending Dr. Dobson even though they disagree with his endorsement of Cruz.

Thanks for this.

.....”some posters on here who have turned on anyone they used to respect such as Rush Limbaugh or Mark Levin just because they have not supported Trump.....”

(That should be a wake up call on the “sudden” change)

.....” They also are willing to change their views on issues such as eminent domain and funding for planned parenthood just to agree with Trump.”.......

(psychologists call that “cognitive consistency.”....whereby People will ‘rearrange their beliefs ‘ to produce an unswervingly positive view of a candidate. Even crystal-clear evidence of Trumps past liberalism will be ignored or rationalized away.)

.......”That is cult like behavior and not all Trump supporters have done this but there are more than a few that have.”.........

A CULT OF PERSONALITY ARISES WHEN ‘’’’AN INDIVIDUAL USES MASS MEDIA,’’’’’’ PROPAGANDA, OR OTHER METHODS, TO CREATE AN IDEALIZED, HEROIC, AND AT TIMES WORSHIPFUL, IMAGE, OFTEN THROUGH UNQUESTIONING FLATTERY AND PRAISE.

(You can generally identify them when trying to verbalize their inexplicable adoration of Trump and regurgitate his sound bites like cult devotees listing their doctrines without being able to explain them.)

Often spoken are ......He’ll make America great again.... He’ll beat Russia.... He’ll beat China..... He’ll beat Hillary. ....He “won’t be holden to lobbyists” (as compared to not being beholden to them). ...He’ll get rid of the immigrants. ....He’ll… the list of retorts really isn’t that long but there’s no need to list them all. You get the point.

His supporters are not stupid. They are naive. Their willingness to buy into his sales pitch without vetting out his claims, examining his policy proposals, or taking common sense into account when reconciling his unbelievable shift to Republican ideals across the board makes them naive.

Yes picking and choosing who you are going to chastise about religious blasphemy and at the same time implying that Trump supporters see Trump as some sorta of god or messiah is being hypocritical. I’m sorry if you don’t see it that way.

Rush and Levin say they aren’t endorsing anyone but are doing a pretty good job of pushing a particular candidate. On top of that, Cruz supporters blasted Palin for her choice in endorsement. Your rationalization of why they no longer support her is no different than those being upset with Rush and Levin. What about the negative comments towards Jerry Falwell Jr. and his endorsement of Trump. Where was your complaint there. Or the Trump isn’t a Christian comments spewed daily. I don’t see you telling anyone to stop.

You want to call someone out about posting hateful rhetoric or religious blasphemy, do it on both sides. Otherwise you are being hypocritical.

Agree 100% with you dschapin. There are posters who dialog and disagree with respect. And there are others who mock our Lord Jesus full of hate.

That is where I draw the line.

It should not be tolerated by a forum that claims to stand for liberty and The Bible. Otherwise it is hypocritcal to have " The Manger Scene, and the Cross at Easter" posted here on the main page.

Either we stand with Christ or we are AGAINST Him.. and blasphemy should not be tolerated.
