She is stated training with the walker and took twenty steps. So she is on the road. I was at the doctor myself to day and they were stacked up so I burn some time on here, but to be honest I has gotten so hateful it has been a relief not to be on. I don’t mind honest debate, but FR is now full Tet.
RJ - what is the name of the guy in the middle? I recall some of that story - he is a real hero. They were clearing the building and an enemy from the second floor or something dropped a grenade or shot or something. The Sgt. Major pushed his guys out of the way and took the hit. But still kept firing protecting his men in the other room?
I’m probably way off, but it was something amazing.
Hope this Marine fully heals.
Good to hear she’s making progress! Thoughts and prayers for the both of you, every day. And ditto to what you say.
SgtMaj Bradley Kasal (then 1stSgt). Currently he is the I MEF SgtMaj. He received the Navy Cross for his actions that day in Fallujah.
Thanks for the name. A quick search confirmed I was sort of right in my memory. Forgot the part where he shielded a wounded guy and took 23 fragments of grenade himself! Plus the bullet wounds. Estimated to have lost 60% of his blood when the photo was taken.
