Ditto. Though I did enjoy the 2 scenes regarding "sky trumpets".
That was “Home”, which is usually considered in the top ten episodes.
The Xfiles never took themselves seriously. If I recall, the sheriff in that Episode was black and named Andy Taylor. There was some funny stuff in that one.
You shouldn’t be so sensitive. It’s not all about the Civil war. They had one from Maine that made them look like idiots too.
They have always been that way. You just “see” it now.
I don’t watch any of that other stuff. I guess they’re catering to the young werewolf and vampire crowd from a few years back. Even Netflix is getting to be terrible. I can never get enough Sci-Fi though, ever since Granny took me to the movies as a kid. Sin Bad the sailor on big screen was epic. I think that’s why I fear snakes to this day, the dancing snake woman.
I thought maybe the younger agents were being auditioned. If the episode got decent ratings and comments, those two might be back in a new X-Files series.
Yeah; that’s what some of us still call it. When a
Rebel soldier was once asked WHY are you fighting us; he
answered, “Because YOU ALL are down heah!!” - My great
great grandfather was a Rebel soldier at Shiloh; I grew up
with my parents taking me to Shiloh a few times. The
Bloody Pond was very, very dark blood reddish from the rocks
on the bottom of the pond being stained with the blood of
soldiers washing their wounds in the pond. It has faded over
the years (I’m 69, and it was over sixty years ago since
I first was there.) I promise you; my folks did not have
slaves! We were mostly dirt farmers ourselves & just about
slaves to our farms. - My sixth great grandparents did have
several slaves & lived on a plantation down in Georgia
Territory a long, long time ago. Their son married a
Cherokee girl; his mother had a fit of the vapors, his
father gave him his inheritance in gold and he & his
“unsuitable” wife boarded a boat and went up the Tennessee
River to a settlement on the river. My great-great
grandfather worked on the TN River as a lightskeeper along
the shores. I have the Smith & Wesson revolver he
carried as there were rough customers on that river.
Oops failed to mention the trumpets. Nerve jittering stuff.

Wouldn’t mind seeing that happen. Not necessarily to see Muldar/Scully or Miller/Einstein but to see the plots and story line. A remembrance from the past and ‘One Step Beyond’ or ‘Science Fiction Theater with Truman Bradley’
I may be in the minority on this but I think this X-Files series, has been beyond Epic and totally kicked A$$! I want more I’m like a kid, in a candy shop.
The first three of the new episodes seemed pretty good.
Four and five were a considerable disappointment, IMO.
Yeah.... I sure hope they do not do that. If they want to restart the series with new actors... lets not go with the same looking people... its just weird and they’d always be in the shadow of their predecessors.
I’m with you 100%! As a relative newcomer to TN, I’m so impressed with the heritage and history of the south.
I love to see the Confederate Flag flying. Never in my life have I associated it with slavery — just freedom. I’m originally from NY and never heard the slavery-flag thing until pretty recently.
It must be our joy in seeing the show again after all these years of fasting. I agree that there were some plots in the last five weeks which were better than others. But it didn’t matter. They were still enjoyed. Just watching the interaction of the characters is a feast in itself. If TPTB do continue the brand - would it be as highly regarded as the original? That remains to be seen. Do we watch for the story lines or to see how the two characters ‘click’ Personally, it is the story line found to be the most compelling. To see ‘clicking’ characters is easy enough - there are many shows that depict that aspect.
Whatever - next week remains to be seen before any grade might be given. :-))
No where near as bad originally. And believe me I have seen it all my life. Still Molder’s trip was pretty neat. And the brusied clavicle at the end was interesting.
I guess. But I tend to just dismiss that stuff unless it is a central tenant of the theme.
I have been watching the original series in order and I find it interesting how they accept and develop the concepts of God and religion.
They tend to be equal opportunity bashers. And its hollywood...I would expect the to be much more negative about Christians.
I agree with that. The original series was more about the story than the preaching. And it was more satisfying because of it, in my opinion. In the days before DVRs we used to rush home to see X-Fikes. It seems only children could program VCRs at the time. Those were the days. I liked fringe also. Have a good day FReeper.
