Yep. Because the left sees people as members of collectives. They see history as a constant conflict between exploiters and exploited, king of an outgrowth of Marx's class struggle. Now it is extended to race, sex, religion, immigrant status, sexuality, gender identity, blah blah blah. Clarence Thomas breaks from the collective race identity, so he is to be destroyed. They don't view it as racist.

Actually, you have a point.. a socialist society wants everyone to think (or not think at all) as a group - no independent thinking at all. (Much like how they teach kids here in Japan in public school :/)

There is NO winner/loser in any competition; there is NO fail (even if you skip 90% of the school year), until you hit high school (and to get into high school, you MUST pass an entrance exam, which is why they Japanese LOOK like they are higher in education).. only the brightest get into High school.. THEN, there is a UNI exam (which, in the USA we also have)..
