Well...I just found this the other day, it was a personal photo a guy had taken on an UNREP in 1968 as the New Jersey came alongside his ship. Not an official Navy photo, but one of the finest I have ever seen of these beautiful ships.

Sadly, those hulls are gone to us now. They are the most beautiful ships, in my opinion, to have ever sailed in the age of steam.

If they’re still having to replace rails after every few shots, maybe Montana class (with Iowa speed)? More barrels might mean more available at any one time. Might as well think big.
